I got installed yesterday my supposedly samsung smart washer and dryer. I attempted today to connect both of them to my Smarthings app and also Smart Home app but as I follow the instruction holding the “Smart Care” button for more than 3 seconds, I never get the letters “AP” I get 2 dots and a line. I tried multiple times but with no success. I even downloaded the app “Samsung Smart Washer” and using the camera the 2 dots and line means “smart care has diagnosed that there are no checkpoints with the washer” whatever that means and the action is turn off and back on. I tried 10 times but nothing. Do I have a defective washer and dryer. Anyone know how to tackle this problem and what the solution is
Hey there! @ramez75, sorry to hear that you’re having issues connecting your washer/dryer combo. What is the model code of the washer and dryer? Does your model appear in the Supported Device list when selecting +Add Device>Samsung>Washwer/Dryer?
Here below are some troubleshooting steps for connecting your washer/dryer combo to the Smart Things Application when receiving an error:
Change your router settings if you have a dual or a triband router. You’ll need to turn off your router’s Smart Connect or QoS you don’t want the router choosing the bandwidth for you. Give each bandwidth its own name (e.g - Home 2.4ghz, Home 5ghz). Washer and Dryers communicate through 2.4ghz.
Clearing settings on Washer/Dryer. In AP mode hold the Temp button for 7 seconds this clears the WiFi settings.
Turn Off Washer or Dryer.
Open up SmartThings and start the link process. Wait to turn on both Washer and Dryer until the step in the link process tells you to turn on and hold Smart Control to put Washer or Dryer in AP mode.
Ensure you have the correct password and 2.4ghz network before moving to the last step.
Once the AP disappears from Washer or Dryer screen immediately push Smart Control button once turning it on. The progress circle at the top of app will quickly move up from 85% to 99% to 100%.
If you are still having issues with the Home Appliances being connected to Smart Things, I would recommend creating a Support ticket so we can look into your concerns further.

I was looking into the same: found that “Smart Care” button does not correlate to “Smart Control”. Smart Control is needed, meaning the unit has Wifi and therefore can be connected to SmartThings… Smart Care is NOT Smart Control.
Hi guys!
I spend about three days to connect my new washer and get SmartThing app resgistrated. Always showed the same error code 13-002 or 15-200.
I got resolved doing the following steps:
1- I set new SSID wireless (just to not change others IOT and make a new setup).
2- I changed the Security setting to WPA-PSK only (That is the secret). The Samsung washer works only WPA-PSK, if you set WPA2 or WPA3 you are facing all the related issues to this topic.
3- Run the setup once again.
I know this is an old post but wondering if you ever got this solved. My dryer is working fine but my washer is giving me the -: when drying to put it in AP mode. So I’m never able to get connected to it to set it up. The wifi icon is not lighting up either.
if you don’t get a response here with a solution for your issue, you can also post on the Samsung community forum where you may find better support for appliances from their community members. Or they may just redirect you back here.
After spending about 2 hours tring to get my washer to connect, Adding a guest network with WPA-PSK security as mensioned above got me connected. Thanks Rodolfo_Duarte for the help.
My router (new verizon router (CR1000A) with extender (E3200)) does not allow WPA-PKS, but I was still able to connect washer (WW25B6900AW/A2 - Samsung - 2.5 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Stackable Smart Front Load Washer with Steam and AI Smart Dial - White) and dryer (DV25B6900HW/A2 - Samsung - 4.0 Cu. Ft. Stackable Smart Electric Dryer with Ventless Heat Pump - White) by using the guest network that is only 2.4 GHz. Dryer did not connect using my iphone but did so when I used an iPad. iPad is somehow much faster.
One thing I still need to try: IoT is also only 2.4 Ghz but both of them failed to connect to it. Maybe they would if I do it with iPad?
One note: I tried guest network and ipad solutions (and many others) several times and they eventually worked, although I did exactly the same before. So I guess there are other factors (wifi strength, random server problems etc.?) that needs to be aligned as well.
I had the same issue, except my dryer had been working until one day it randomly disconnected. I tried for days to get it back. Today, I ended up turning off IPv6 and viola! It connected immediately. A week prior, my washer disconnected and had trouble reconnecting until I reset the washer. Never touched the IPv6 setting, so I don’t know if this is 100% the answer everytime.
