Samsung Smart Tag2 - Notify when left behind - Distance too far

I enabled the Notify when left behind feature on a Smart Tag2. It works, but the distance I have to go to get notified is way too far. I walked about 200 yards down the street before I got a notification. I’d rather it alert me much closer. Is there any way to adjust the range sensitivity for this? I’ve looked around for an answer but came up empty. Do we have to wait for Samsung to address this issue? Or is ~200 yards just the way it is?

BLE has a range of around 100m and it’s possible for it to be greater depending on various factors. So, I’d expect that you wouldn’t get notified until at least 100 yards from where the tag is located. Factor in detection time and communication with the ST cloud for Find to push a notification to your phone and I can easily see where you might not get notified until you were that far from the tag.

I also feel that time is involved. In a car I’ve had notifications a lot further away than a couple of hundred yards. Most recently it was half a mile and on reviewing the history the tag was actually reported at the location where my phone was even though it was at home - the notification occurred when the location was corrected. If you have multiple tags I am wondering if there may be an element of luck as to whether the tag happens to be one of the two ‘connected’ tags when you depart.

In the above case, and similar ones, I had actually specified I should not be notified if the tag was as home but got it anyway. I can only guess that the location is slightly out of sync with the timing of the notification.
