Ring Wired Doorbell Pro

I want to know if “Ring Wired Doorbell Pro” works on SmartThings app? If yes I would like to know features of it on SmartThings app.

I also saw Ring Protect subscriptions for this doorbell. I am not sure what all things are supported without any subscription. Can you help me with this as well?

Here’s some screen shots showing the features of my wired Ring Pro in the ST app. You can also treat it like a motion detector in your routines.

I prefer using Alexa to trigger routines because it can be set up to detect people vs. motion. You can still include ST devices in your Alexa routines.

I have set up ST routines to turn on (and off) my front porch lights at night when there is motion on the camera. I have set up an Alexa routine to make my Nissan car lights flash and some of my first floor interior lights turn on the off when a person is detected after midnight.

I got rid of my Ring Doorbell because of the recent ludicrous increase in subscription charges. I replaced it with the Aqara G4 which I hardwired and is subscription free and supported in Smartthings with a cloud to cloud integration. It is also supposed to get a firmware update to support Matter.

Do i need to buy Aqara hub to use Aqara doorbell with ST?

Thanks @TylerDurden

All of the above mentioned things can be done without subscriptions?

I already has a mechanical doorbell with chime. Do i need to buy Ring chime as well to have SmartThings integrations working fine ?

I do not have an Aqara hub. I have a ST Hub V3.

Thanks for the tip, Andrew! I never subscribed and, since no events are “recorded” for my review, my Ring Doorbell’s best use case is to look outside and see if it is snowing…

I don’t think you’ll be able to see any recorded videos without the ring subscription. I’m not sure if the person detection is supported without the subscription. I’m also not sure which versions of the Ring Pro support person detection. I’m pretty sure you can use the doorbell as a motion sensor and trigger routines when the doorbell is pressed without a subscription. My Ring Doorbell does connect to my mechanical chime. I actually prefer to set my Alexa devices to play a sound when the doorbell is pressed.
