I don’t believe this is true. The “official” Nest integration would be greatly stripped down as we would have to remove functionality in order to allow you to connect Nest to SmartThings. For example - you’d only be able to use it with certain SmartApps (as defined by Nest).
Additionally we would have to restrict access to the device type (ie not open) and not allow any SmartApps from the community to interact with Nest. As you can start to see, there are many reasons why official integration has fallen lower on the priority list.
This is not the reason for the delays. As stated a few different places, we need to make significant platform changes to adhere to the Nest terms of service which states we cannot keep more than 10 days of data.
These were the reasons given on why there is no official Nest integration. That’s why I was asking Anthony about this. It would be a very bad if his Nest Manager gets shut down because of the way ST handles the data or something like that.
