Remove and reset hub to give to friend

I’m moving away from ST and I’m trying to clean my hub up so I can give it to a friend looking into getting into smart home stuff.

I’ve removed all the devices I can. (some are from smart apps that keep coming back, and cant remove the app.)

I’ve deleted everything from the phone app, including the hub. The hub and those ghost devices still show in the IDE.

Trying to delete the hub or location in IDE just generates a 500 server error.

This is a v2 hub with the red reset button. I’ve tried the 30s push and hold reset but the LED never changes color from green.

I’ve been going around with tier 1 support for a few days and not getting anywhere.

just hard reset it by pressing the red button until the front light starts flickering yellow, then release the red button. the hub light will turn magenta which means that it is re-downloading the latest firmware. eventually it will settle on a green light meaning its ready to go.

now there is a chance that the next user might have to contact support to remove it from your account before they can add it to their account. you could try contacting support yourself and see if they can remove it now (if thats what you havent already tried contacting support.)

I got it reset.

Trying to get support to remove it from my account is futile. If they ask one more time what type of
phone and OS, and version of the mobile app I run I’m going to flip.

I’ve asked them to escalate to the next tier of support.

I’m gonna miss this community, but I’m definitely not going to miss Samsung and their new overseas support.

well, that is great to hear.
