I have the mentioned hub/ remote (without the device buttons) it works great with ST.
Yes that is the advantage of that remote. The 4 dedicated buttons can be used both as a press and a long press for home automation devices if you set it up that way
Not me, I don’t buy anything electronic on eBay.
I wait until they’re on sale at Amazon or Best Buy for about $99.
Sorry - thought it was you. Well, SOMEONE has.
This is somewhat old news, but just wanted to mention that Amazon did match Home Depot on the new $59.99 price on the Hue Bloom Table lamp. This is quite a dim bulb, they say 40 W equivalent but it’s 120 lm. If you aim it at a white wall, the color will show up a little more. But it makes a nice notification or mood light, or nightlight for a child’s room. It does plug-in even though you can’t see the cord in the marketing pictures.
If you really have some plastic burning a hole after the holidays. BB ebay channel has Sono5 for $425 choice of black or white
While an expensive option for notification, I went that router and agree. 3 of these flashing ( 2 downstairs, 1 in bedroom) does a much better job of getting people’s attention than the gocontrol strobe/siren set on light only.
Still working on getting it to flash different colors for the different alerts though. So far it is a 2 step/app process 1st turns on and sets color, then 2nd flashes it .

Any experience with the battery operated one? Not exactly the same, but it looks similar and is apparently more direct light (and can be battery operated).
It would be really helpful if people posting to this thread would mention what device you’re talking about. Those of us who use text to speech have a really hard time figuring it out otherwise.
If you’re asking about the Phillips hue bloom (plug-in) versus the go (battery-operated) they look quite different in person. The go is a popcorn bowl type shape that has light coming from all sides. The bloom looks more like a plate on a stand and only has light coming off the plate, not from the sides. So I’m confused that what you mean by “more direct light”
As far as using them with SmartThings, they both work as long as you’re using the hue bridge. The problem with the go is that it turns itself off after about two hours and it can no longer hear commands. So it’s less practical than I thought it would be. It’s more of a party light. But if you have any further questions about them I suggest you start a new topic under connected devices and people can give you their experiences there.
Ring Doorbell + Chime @ Costco for $179
Anyone knows if its their latest model? Tried comparing the specs and it looks like it is so sounds like a good deal considering just the doorbell is $199 and they give you the chime as well for $179…

Sorry. I know I do it sometimes too. Here’s the deal…while I can’t speak for everyone that does it, for me, it’s when I click ‘Reply’ on somebody’s post, since I know it will show who (and specifically which post) I’m replying to, I leave it at that (figuring it’s less muck for others to wade through). If I included the text of their post every time, just with my replies alone I suspect it would be too much more text in the thread.
Don’t get me wrong…I’m certainly not arguing about it lol I definitely appreciate your position, and to the best of my ability, I’m going to try to keep this in mind when posting here from now on (I’m learning…little by little).
I think the best thing for me will be to have it always include the text of the post when I start my comments. That way, I can cut it down to just the portion I really want to respond back to (like this one). That IS what I do most of the time, but once in a while, I just let the ‘replying-to’ notation in the forum software do that job for me. If/when I do forget, and you encounter it, please let me know, JD. I won’t take it as anything other than a friendly reminder.
OOPS… OMG, now I have to go back and delete this post. lol
I will…soon…
We are already at 245 posts in a thread that probably has less than 50 posts about actual deals. It’s pretty obvious not too many people care about flooding extra posts in here haha.

I clicked the PIR link 20 minutes after it was posted yesterday (?) and they were already OOS again.
