Same for me.
Same with me: suddenly (after no changes) no sound out of “Sonos Amp” (amplifier - connected to speaker) from the ST app. Have a few connected – all broke at the same time.
All works perfectly via the Sonos app, plays music without issue.
Neither ST voice notification or music via the ST device settings makes a sound. But all worked perfectly up until a couple of months? ago, then silence.
Clicking the mute button in ST device settings toggles the mute light on the physical amp (so they’re obviously connecting).
Yes, thanks, I tried rebooting, deleting, resetting, reinstalling, ST devices, physical devices, hub, network, verified network – no change.
If ST updated the driver – that would explain it.
They can break it remotely – can they fix it remotely?
I also have this issue. Very frustrating!
Same issue for also. No spoken notifications.
Tried removing and reading one speak and Sonos speaker is found but then shows offline.
The other speakers show as online and even shows what is being played but the pause and play doesn’t work via Smartthings.
As @jkp mentions above
Older Sonos speakers no longer support audio notifications
same here, I use this feature in multiple locations with the entire sonos speakers collection s2 and newer and this feature doesn’t work anymore. suddenly happened without notice. Anybody working on this?
We’ve spent a significant dollar amount integrating this into our offices and multiple locations and can’t believe that this functionality is being removed without notice. @fido Will this be fixed?
SmartThings is well aware that there is an issue with the current production and beta drivers. There is an extensive discussion of the issues in this thread.
The notification capability is there for S2 speakers, and it works when the driver does. We just need the driver to stop losing its connection with the speakers.
.
Unknown tbh, ST have announced for S1 that audio notifications will not be available, it may not be an ST decision, we all know Sonos are trying to get users onto S2 so it may be a Sonos request
Conectivity is being worked on with the help of some of the forum users
Non of us no more than that really
One more thing
I see users trying different methods of grouping, or using LAN connections or all manner of different things trying to get it working, non of it will help, if the driver is failing, the integration will fail
I have two other identical setups and they are still working solid. Both using the 3 ST hub/mesh directly.
At the office we had one hub wired directly into the old router and it was working fine for a few years until a week or two ago. Because it stopped working i decided to upgrade our wifi mesh to see if i could get it going again and it’s still the same thing. no sound. I can see all the devices responding but from what we can tell, no action is being sent to the sonos speakers anymore.
Thank you @fido for the response and after reading the other thread i realized that i had updated the sonos system at the office and not at the other two locations.
Not sure if this helps anyone.
Add me to the problem, messages stopped playing a few months ago.
