oAuth Issues all cloud to cloud integrations broken (02/05/16)

I’m the SharpTools developer – I’m working closely with the developer advocacy team at SmartThings to get things back up and running again. It looks like there was a platform change made last night which took SharpTools down, but we are working to get it back up again.

OK cool. Just like any other system. You go to fix one thing and you break two.

ok just got a response from support stating that the issue with sharptools is unrelated to the oAuth issues this morning and they are currently working with @joshua_lyon to resolve, and the oAuth Issue this morning is unrelated to the news stories circulating regarding the security vulnerabilities that Michigan Uni found, so my speculation it seems was purely just that…speculation.

However ST still apparently have not located the Root cause of the issue this morning and it is being investigated, so i will sign out and wait for a fix. @joshua_lyon could you update this thread once you are aware its fixed?

that is basically b.s… the issue most certainly is an oauth issue most likely related becuase old oauth was not working and you got the error when trying to re-auth. and i removed the smartapp and created it manually from an alpha version i found and was able to do my own manual oauth and fill in the values in advanced in the android app and got it working again. However, you loose some functionality this way like refresh working on the widgets etc. It appears to me that anything you manually set up by doing your own oauth works fine, but those that automatically do it through an app or app install are hosed.

SmartTiles installer is functioning properly across all “shards” at this time. As far as we know, we were not impacted by any SmartThings issues today.

Thanks for the feedback, It looks like a UK related update threw some things out, part of it was Oauth related and I know you had a lot of experience with where the system was with that. The only problem I had with Smarttiles was the weather tile. Which is still not responding but I don’t think that was an issue with your interface.

Cheers

If you could update us here when this is resolved it would be much appreciated. Then I can go back and setup my sharptools authorization again.

Hopefully soon.

After all this the status page still says all OK. We must be imagining all this!?

This sucks. 12 hours and still does not work

Oh but I bet it’s agile, which definitely reduces defects.

SharpTools 2.2 has been released to Google Play. It may take several hours before the update is available to download.

Note that SharpTools 2.2 should fix things for users on the NA01 shard. After downloading the updated SharpTools release, please reauthorize your things from the SharpTools Settings screen to re-establish functionality.

SmartThings is working on synchronizing the changes across to the NA02 and EU shards and we expect this to be complete over the next 24 hours. Once the server sync is complete, NA02 and EU users should be able to reauthorize their things and functionality should return to normal.

NA02: graph-na02-useast1.api.smartthings.com
EU: graph-eu01-euwest1.api.smartthings.com

Just downloaded version 2.2 and reauthorized, but not working for me.
After these steps it shown 0 things authorized. I am on NA01.

Any other steps needed?

We need to wait 24hours here in the UK because ST fixed the US shard first yesterday. Nothing we can do but wait…

FYI… The US shard is still not working for me nor for others.

Hope it’s fixed by the time things start replicating to the UK shard.

I am on na01 and still not working… 0 authorized.

I’m sailing in the same boat. Not working yet for me either. Believe I’m also on na01.

Thanks for the additional feedback! It looks like there’s still some work that needs to be done. Tim and I were able to test and validate the updated app last night, but my inbox is full with support requests letting me know that didn’t work! Thanks for your patience as we work through this.

Also note that there is a similar thread happening at:

I just pushed 2.2 R2 to Google Play and it should be available over the next few hours:

SharpTools 2.2 R2 Release
OK, let’s try this again. I pushed an updated release to Google Play this morning and it should make its way through the system over the next few hours. It looks like I had inadvertently removed a flag during the build/release process causing the last build to not work. I had a few NA01 users double check this build and and the authorization is working as expected.

For reference, the changelog in Google Play for this build will have “2.2 R2” in it.

2.2 r2 installed still not working… I have two locations… it is trying to authorize on the first location in the list, even though I am picking devices in the 2nd.

Mine now works

I’m in, appears to be working. Might have a few statuses off. I’ll look closer when I’m home again.
