Notification sound from smartthings

I think I know the answer to this, but asking anyway.
Is there any way to change the notification sound for SmartThings? I’d dearly like to have a different Sound to the default.
This is on android by the way.

For Android, under Settings->Notifications->App Notifications->SmartThings->Notification categories, you can set a specific sound for each of the 4 categories:

  • SmartThings notifications
  • Audio output
  • General notifications
  • Ongoing notification

Do you happen to know which is triggered by which action?
I have a really obnoxious sound for the Smart Home Monitor intrusions. Unfortunately, the Low Battery Alert triggers the same sound and for some reason Samsung likes to send Low Battery when i am asleep. Low Battery alerts are also inaccurate.

I don’t know which category those would fall into.

Excellent! Thanks

Is there a way to change the notification sounds on IOS?

Update on this … on Galaxy s24 custom app notification sounds are disabled by default, you need to enable this under notifications… advanced settings

Then set sounds as described before under notification categories

Great answer! Thanks. Two days checking and not found. Well hidden by Android 14

Thank you! This has been incredibly helpful – My use-case – I’ve spent months trying to keep pop-up notifications active on ST without the persistent sound alerts. It finally dawned on me to dig deeper, and I stumbled across this, which has now resolved my predicament.

For anyone who’s not aware, as mentioned by @Declankh, the ‘Advanced settings’ can be accessed by following these steps:

  1. Open the ‘Settings’ App (within Samsung)

  2. Scroll down to Notifications

  3. Select ‘Advanced settings’

  4. Turn on ‘Manage notification categories for each app’ (as highlighted in the screenshot from @Declankh’s post.

I also have a solution to custom event notifications within SmartThings , here I get a notification on my phone saying “driveway motion” when the SmartThings driveway sensor is triggered. This is using modes and routines on Samsung, dunno if it’s doable on other android phones.

Must be a Samsung thing. I don’t see anything like this on my Google Pixel phone or Lenovo tablet.

It’s a Samsung exclusive app called Modes & Routines that can automate a lot of things - a bit like Tasker. It even has an interface to SmartThings! When I get a phone call, my TV pauses. When my alarm clock goes off, the nightstand light is turned on.

Do you have an App ID or more details on this “Modes & Routines” app?
I have Samsung S9 and do not see this name in the old Samsung App Store nor can I find in the Google Play Store.
Thanks!

Your Samsung S9 with One UI 2.5 is too old. Modes and Routines was introduced in One UI 5.0 and comes pre-installed.

Figures,
Still has removeable memory, good camera and does everything I need.
When it dies or they start telling me certificates are out of date like they did with my S4, maybe I’ll get something newer.
Thanks

Bummer.
You might be able to do some similar with tasker but if is it’ll be less straightforward
