Ok Im new to ST and started with the new v3 HUB and the Snartthings Connect app. I have been reading up on stuff like WebCore and started the install to only find out it doesn’t work with the new ST Connect app. I’m trying to do some basic stuff right now so I was wondering if someone could help me understand how to accomplish something simple. If my phone presence is away from my home and my door is unlocked send me a text. I have a Smart Lock and its integrated into ST but for the life of me I can’t find a easy way to send me a push notification if the lock is unlocked by someone when I’m away. Thanks for any help you can offer.
I am almost certain that none of the custom automations in STSC will send text messages, only push notifications at this point.
You will read throughout the forums that it is recommended that you install the Classic app and use it. It has much more functionality than the STSC app.
If you only need a push notification in STSC, go to Automations, click the + in the upper left of the screen and choose custom Automation, choose based on a device status, select your lock, choose unlocked, done,then click add in the IF section and select based on member’s location, choose away, click done. Then click add in the THEN section and set up your push notification.
