Hi, I’ve done my best searching for an answer and I’m still scratching my head.
I’ve got a v2 Hub and have been using it for years. Last week we got an AC unit installed. A deciding factor in which brand we went with was that the Samsung units integrate into SmartThings.
I went through the onboarding process for the unit, and after a couple of failed attempts (I can’t tell my Google Wifi router to disable 5GHz so we had to get creative and dangle it out of the window to let the AC unit to see the 2.4 network) it connected and showed up in the Smartthings App. At some point in this process I was asked to log in to my Samsung account and did so. I can see the AC unit in my Samsung account dashboard as a “Registered device”
Now, every time I open the AC unit in SmartThings, I’m redirected to account.samsung.com (the full URL starts with /accounts/ANDROIDSDK/signInGate
before a ridiculously long auth code)
The page says:
Continue with {my email}
Applicable service:
SmartThings DA Device Plugin
Then two buttons labelled “Continue” and “Cancel”
If I hit continue, I land back in SmartThings and can control my AC unit
If I hit the cross on the webpage, I land back in SmartThings and can control my AC unit
If I hit cancel, I land back in SmartThings and can usually controll my AC unit - there have been a couple of times things are greyed out and I don’t know if I was just impatient.
I’ve got my devices linked through to Google Home and also Home Assistant, and I can also control the AC unit from either of those, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to stop it redirecting me in the SmartThings app. I assume it’s something to do with an OAuth token not being correctly saved, but I’ve no idea how to fix it.
Edit: I’ve just noticed that if I go to my.smartthings.com and click settings it’s a little unsure who I am:
I wonder if that’s relevant?
