The instructions aren’t clear - do I need to create a Nest developer account just to use my thermostat with Smartthings? If so, are there instructions available for the new version of the Nest developer account?

You don’t need to create a Nest developer account if you use MyNextManager:

If you want to use any other alternative, yes, you’d need to create one, and it’s not simple as you need to set up different permissions. And, If you make any errors, then the devices won’t work.
