I need assistance with a claimed Smart Hub V2 model STH-ETH-200.
The person who sold it to me says they are trying to remove it from their account but having issues. I’ve contacted support and they have verified it is showing claimed since 2021. I’m having trouble finding anyone in support that knows how to remove the claim, and have been forwarded around to many teams.
I’ve seen technicians here that know how to do it and have done it successfully. I can provide pictures of the device, the serial number, and the welcome code.
Good luck because customer service suck i have a v3 since 2018 and they are saying that i never claimed my hub it work and I’m ditching everything from samsung slowly apple home is great the best is home assistant green lots of support wont have to block any port i have my hub since 2018 working great without update lots of matter devices supposed to work with samsung and they don’t most of my devices work with Alexa you install a device in SmartThing for example then it’s say 0 devices aquara fp2 and lockly visage samsung is really disappointing with everything phone update always the last to receive and TV always disconnect from SmartThing app if it’s power off more time goes more the services is crap I never encounters blocking upd on any device to update my device samsung should at put a fix but they leave the problem to the customer that how great samsung is but they are there to sales you a new phone they produce almost 3 new model every year but updating phone is the last priority for samsung
connect the hub to your network with an Ethernet cable (required)
power off the hub and remove any batteries if there are any
there is a reset slot on the back of the hub, press it in with a small pin
continue pressing and reinsert the power cable
wait about 30 seconds until you see a solid yellow led on the front of the hub and stop pressing the reset slot
now, depending on when the hub was last in use and claimed, you may need to go through additional steps to get it to connect. the troubleshooting guide can be found here: Troubleshooting SmartThings Hub 2018 and Aeotec Hub
Yeah.. I seem to be getting the runaround on chat support.. The factory reset will NOT work unless the hub is released from the account it is on. If it shows as CLAIMED, it will not reset as a security feature.
the factory reset does remove it from the other account. Possible the security certificate has expired and you need to go through those steps first before you can reset it. Guide is linked above.
also, it needs to be connected by an Ethernet cable to your home network. directions above.
tagging @itali who can step in if you continue to have problems
Block/reject traffic from the smart things assigned IP to 123 out. (blocking NTP). unplugged power, press and hold reset and plug power in. The led starts red for about 3 seconds then goes off for about 10 seconds, then blue for 7 seconds, then red for 3 seconds, then off for 10 seconds (repeats over and over, no yellow)
If I insert a fat-32 USB device and click reset, it reboots, shows red led for 3 seconds then off for a few seconds then blue led. I take the USB device out and no files have been written.
It doesn’t seem to be factory resetting. I’m not sure if I’m missing a step but it doesn’t do anything but reboot if the reset button is held.
They are saying that I never claim my hub and I have SmartThing hub since 2018 and I always use it but only for smart devices and Google home and Alexa and now I only have 4 multi sensors on it all the rest now it’s on Alexa because every time the box say SmartThings matter than it only works on alexa I try aquara fp2 and it suck on SmartThings than lockly visage something it’s on the list account link and 0 devices discovered but alexa it’s there it works I got to realize that I don’t really need SmartThing hub after all
But if you’re hub works good don’t update the firmware until they fix all the glitch from the new version because people are posting devices not working anymore
