Need help by installing Aqara G350 on Smarttings or Aqara home app

Thanks to the entousiast words of Mr Roedl I bought the G350.

Canot quite get it to wortk.

I installed it in Smarthings and I only got a hub. I had to type the Wifi info manually.

Removed it from ST and tried the Aqara home app, where i cannot install it at all. (also after the ten quick factory reset action.) it keeps going back tot the QR screen option.

Keeping the button pressed in the Home app it says “connected nicely” or something, but nothing happens,

What am i doing wrong?

The G350 should first be added to Aqara Home, updated to the latest firmware, and then connected to SmartThings via Matter.

I would suggest the following procedure:

  1. Start with Aqara Home. If the previous installation attempts were unsuccessful, factory-reset the G350 by pressing its function button 10 times quickly.
  2. Open Aqara Home → Add Accessory → Camera Hub G350 and follow the instructions. Make sure you’re using the correct QR code: the G350 has separate QR codes for Aqara, Matter, and Apple HomeKit. For the initial installation in Aqara Home, use the Aqara pairing code.
  3. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled, the necessary app permissions are granted, and your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network.
  4. Once the camera is working in Aqara Home, install all available firmware updates. This is particularly important for Matter compatibility.
  5. Now open the G350’s Matter settings in Aqara Home and generate a new Matter pairing code for another ecosystem.
  6. In SmartThings, select Add Device → Matter Device, scan the newly generated code, and complete the pairing process.

Regarding the G350 appearing only as a hub in SmartThings: This behavior has been reported before. The G350 combines several functions, including a Matter controller/bridge and a Matter camera. In an earlier test, the camera initially appeared only as a hub in SmartThings. After updating the firmware and pairing it through Aqara Home’s Matter multi-admin functionality, the camera was successfully recognized.

If Aqara Home still keeps returning to the QR-code screen, could you tell me:

  • Are you using Android or iOS?
  • Which QR code are you scanning?
  • What is the G350’s status LED showing during the installation attempt?

EDIT. I travel too much and changed it now to the Netherlands. Pfff. Stress.

But one more question: After the update (4,5,80 etc) How install on smarttings?

and :install all available firmware updates… I only see one.4,5,80,001 etc is that enough?
