Having a small problem with my Meross devices since the AWS crash. I can still control all my Meross devices in the Smartthings app no problem; However, if I turn on a Meross device within the Meross app or Google Home app, Smartthings does not update the status. I have tried clicking Meross refresh within the linked services section of the Smartthings app and this only refreshes the current device status. If I make a change outside Smartthings it will not update again. I have also tried to relink smartthings within the google app and that did not work either.
Only Meross has this problem, my Lutron and Philips Hue devices still update smartthings if I turn them on or off in a different app. Got any fixes for this?
Hi @qwkteg125
It’s very likely that the issue is caused by the callback access token no longer being valid.
We can look into it further, but for a quick fix, please uninstall and reinstall the integration.
If reinstalling isn’t ideal for you, let me know and I’ll check with the team about other possible options.
Yeah I just checked again and smartthings can’t tell the status when I physically press the meross switch either. Last time this happened I think I had to unlink and relink the meross integration. I’m just trying to avoid this because I dread having to re-do every automation linked to these lights.
If you can look into this before I nuke my system and need more information from me first please let me know. Thanks!
EDIT: Forgot to mention I have also tried rebooting the Smartthings hub already as well
Something I noticed… Reporting interval for thermostats have gone unstable, even up to 12 hours for some devices. This issue is also happening in Alexa. My Matter connected devices through a MSH450 hub and an Aeotech hub are working fine. I suspect there might be some connection bugs still present… I do not know if this has anything to do with status update, but who knows… Some of my Meross lights are not updating their status in Smartthings as well intermittently.
I have dumped a thermostat log from Meross and the temperature data in it is correct.
Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.
Once that’s done, please try making a change on the third-party side, and share the exact timestamp along with the timezone when the action was performed.
This will allow our engineering team to look into the SmartThings logs and investigate the issue further.
Thanks for sharing those details. Just to confirm, are you already following up with Meross regarding this issue?
We’d like to know if you’ve been in contact with their support team and whether they are actively investigating it on their side.
Thanks for looking into this for me! I have enabled account access for my smartthings account. The user email for my acct is the same email used in my profile.
At 12:02:10p PST I activated my Meross switch for the Entryway Light by physically pressing the button.
At 12:02:20p PST I turned it off, again by pressing the button.
These actions were not reflected in Smartthings still.
I have contacted Meross and they have only responded automatically and opened a ticket. Since I contacted them this morning (eastern Canada) it was evening in China… Now the dead of night.
I will definitely follow this up and post any info here. In the SmartThings app, I noticed that swiping down in the thermostat’s tile the temperature does update, but only then.
I am using the Meross MTS960 (temperature controller with outside probe) as a outside temperature monitor to run the throttle for the inverter power on my heatpump, so this feature is quite important with the ever changing temperature in Canada.
Thanks again for all the detailed information. We’ve checked with our internal team, and this behavior appears to be an issue that needs to be reviewed on the Meross side.
We recommend reaching out to the Meross Support Team so they can confirm whether it’s necessary to delete and re-link the integration, or if there’s another action needed to restore the automatic status updates between Meross and SmartThings.
First suggestion I received was to remove a device in Meross app and then re-install it… That did not go so well, After re-installing the device and refreshing the Meross to SmartTings link, all the Meross devices stopped showing their status inside SmartThings. They did work though when operated from any source.
Now what did the trick was to delete the account link between Meross and SmartThings and re-create it.
One word of caution before doing this: All Meross devices in SmartThings DISAPPEAR… They are also absent from the routines where they were installed. In the routines you can see “Device Removed” where they were installed. The settings are retained in the SmartThings routines, so you need to plug in the proper Meross device(s) and save the routine.
Personally, I like to do screenshots of all the routines where each device was involved before doing anything potentially destructive… And this is one of those cases… To be done before UNLINK.
Anyone else still experiencing device update issues between Meross and Smartthings? I followed murvic’s advice by removing the connection, adding it back, them fixing the broken automations. I have done that twice now over a week. The service stays synced for a few hours but stops. The devices (garage door openers) still work through SmartThings but automations that require the updated status (open/close) of the garage door do not because the device’s status doesn’t update in SmartThings.
