Hi - I have a condo that is rented on AirBNB. There are strict rules about all units having a uniform exterior appearance. Since I can’t change the existing doorlatch/deadbolt, I’m looking for a door lock solution that will give app controlled door locking and unlocking WITHOUT changing existing hardware. I’m hoping that there is something out there that will replace the guts of the deadbolt only or even an electromagnetic solution. Any ideas of where to start my search? TIA!
Perhaps the Aqara U200? It attaches to the interior side of the existing deadbolt. You’ll need a Matter capable hub and an Aqara hub.
here are some retrofit locks that you can check out. You keep the existing hardware on the exterior of the door but replace the hardware on the interior side of the door. They offer keypads too if allowed at your location.

I have two of these at my primary home, as well as in a couple other locations. Regardless of what the description says, it’s a simple Zigbee lock that just replaces the inside part of the lock. The outside of your existing lock is unchanged. You do NOT need Amazon Cloud at all, and it it easily joins to ST, and it’s execution is local on the hub too.
EDIT: @jtbuckley, I reread your post and saw the “without” statement. Are you not even allowed to change anything on the inside of the door?
