Logitech Harmony Questions

I’m the opposite. I prefer the simple remote, it is very to the point and does everything I need.

I have a tablet next to the couch. It was fire tablet, now its the Vizio remote tablet that I use smarttiles/logitech app for more advanced scenarios. I probably use it once a week.

@MTherrien
You can do that, not sure through just the Harmony (I want to say yes). I have rules in CoRE that if my PS4 is on to set lights to a specific level. I have them tied into motion so that is why I use ST/CoRe.

I thought that I should follow up.
I bought the Harmony Companion and it’s working for me.
I do miss the screen and backlit buttons that I had on my Harmony One but it’s not worth an extra $150 to me.
I can use my iPad or iPhone to control the Harmony Hub, anyways. I happen to have an extra iPad mini and I will probably just leave it by the TV.
I’m also able to control the Harmony Hub activities from the SmartThings app so I have been able to do things like add “Radio” (my stereo receiver) to my “Good morning” SmartThings routine. My one gripe with using the Logitech Companion to control lights on Zwave switches is that the dimmer seems to lack much fine tuning (steps are too big). But other than that, it’s all good, and definitely worth the $100 for the Harmony hub with Companion (at Best Buy after getting $50 rebate for recycling an old Harmony remote).

I ended up purchasing the Harmony Ultimate setup, so far it’s ok. No sure it’s worth the price tag. I certainly won’t be using the remote to control lights etc; it’s horrible for that!

It took me a while to get used to programming it, but got there in the end.

It’s nice to control it as part of ST, roll on when my Echo arrives

You should’ve gotten the Elite, it’s awesome for lights lol…

Yeah the Elite and the Home Control remotes are far superior for smart home control. I have an Ultimate and going through the menus takes longer than opening the ST app or yelling at Alexa. They really need to allow custom programming of ALL buttons on the remote to support this. And I know it’s not a technical limitation, they just want to sell more remotes…

I had to install MyHarmony desktop software (as instructed here) and add SmartThings manually (Manufacturer: SmartThings, Device Model Number: SmartThings).
