I’ve now gotten to the point where I can deterministically pair and repair the VRCS2 while retaining the association between the physical buttons and the loads. I wish I could guarantee that what I did will work for you, but it does work reproducibly for me. Your mileage may vary. Steps: (all of these steps done with the SmartThings hub only a few feet away from the device. this is important) Exclude the device if it has been previously included in any previous Z-wave network. To do this, press and hold one of the buttons until it blinks amber (~5 seconds). Then put the SmartThings app/hub into exclude mode (see other posts or above for details).
