“Learn mode” missing in ST app under Z-Wave utilities

I am unable to use the learn mode on my V3 SmartThings hub, even after a complete reset of the device

The below shows that I have no devices attached to it and still cannot access it

I managed to delete this previously (:roll_eyes:);

Hi,

To add a Z-Wave (or any other) device put the device into discover mode and access ‘Add device’ from the ‘+’ menu on the ST app home page. Then select the ‘Scan nearby’ button, keep the app open. ST should then find your device and add it to your hub…

I am trying to add my alarm.com Qualsys panel as the primary and have this hub added as the secondary to report on the zones and devices on my alarm panel.

The option does not appear on my Samsung phone running version 1.8.21.28 but it does show up on my friends phone, running apple os and app version 1.7.22.22.

Seems like its either an android/apple issue or app versioning issue

Odd… Android app 1.8.21.28 is fine for me:

Maybe try power cycling phone and/or resetting/reinstalling the app?

I have done both of those, uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted phone.

To be clear I’m talking about the advanced Z-Wave function of Z-Wave learn in the submenu. This is to allow this smart things hub to be paired to a qolsys alarm panel or other main Z-Wave hub

Ahhh, beyond basic device discovery I am not sure the ST hub has that functionality.

That said I am by no means an ST Z-Wave aficionado so hopefully another forum member can help with the advanced stuff…

Probably the latter as the Android app definitely used to have it. I don’t know when I last saw it.

Yeah, is that something I should put in a bug report or something for?

I would have thought so. It sounds like an operational issue so it is probably one for the main support team.
