Kwikset connect 620 lock is only connecting to Aeotec Smart Home Hub as a dimmer and not a lockset. It connects using Zwave Plus but defaults to a device type Dimmer with dimmer controls.
Try the following.
1] exclude your lock
2] install the Z-Wave Lock PH driver
3] repair your lock with it next to you hub.
To use, enroll using the Channel Invitation and install the driver (choose the latest version if multiple are available). It should appear as an option in the driver swap utility for any device that supports a matching command class.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the help.
I Excluded the lock
I Install the Z-wave Lock PH Driver
I am not sure how to repair the lock as suggested. I did the following: I moved the Aeotec Hub next to the ock, In SmartThings I selected Add a device, I put the lock in discovery mode, SmartThings App found it and added it but it added it as a dimmer yet again. So apparently I am not doing the correct process.
Could you expand on “Repair your lock with it next to your hub”?
Thank you
Go to + sign [on favorites or devices page], Add Device, Partner Device, Kwikset, Door Lock, Kwikset Z-Wave.
But do it close to your hub to make sure all security messages are sent and received.
Awesome! That worked. Took a couple of times. Not the easiest stuff to work with . Thank you very much! Hey do you have any work arounds to connect MyQ garage opener to SmartThings Hub?
Chamberlain killed all 3rd MyQ integrations earlier this year.
You would need to add a additional controller to your Chamberlain door opener such Meross, Ragato, possible a Zooz Zen 16 or 17 to get a ST integration.
Just search for MyQ in the forum and only look at newer posts from the last 6 months.
I’m having the same issue, have tried 5-6 times. it’s still recognized as a dimmer
I am having the same dimmer issue.
I have installed 3x Kwikset 620 in the past (2023) and all worked just fine.
This time, it is always showing up as a dimmer.
I installed Z-Wave Lock PH
and is shows up in my hubs available drivers and I can change a working lock to that driver.
I’ve tried scanning QR Code, scanning and adding manually, and going to Add Device->Partner Device->Kwikset (open’s scan QR Code, doesn’t have a Door Lock option).
No matter what I do, it still shows up as a dimmer.
I suspect I am missing a step with the Z-Wave Lock PH Driver.
If it adds successfully, which half the time it doesn’t, I get this error:
“Your device is connected insecurely. You can still…” Error code: 34-501.
9 out of 10, I am unable to remove this device (or any device) from my phone and have to do it from the web interface.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
I uninstalled SmartThings from my phone, which had been installed via the Galaxy Store, and reinstalled it from the Google Play store.
It then added correctly the first time.
Not sure if there is a bug in the Galaxy store version, or if my app was in a weird state and just needed to be reset.
