I am also interested in any updates on this as one of my ‘upcycled’ smartthings wifi hubs (ET-WV523) stays on the magenta led (firmware update?) forever (= more than 72hours) now after initiated factory reset again and again over the last weeks. Lets name this device Hub3 for this post.
Trying to add this hub3 after a soft reset to locationA and hub1 always only leads to a freeze at 69% integration progress and ends with an network error 36-302.
Wifi Hub3 is connected via ethernet, Integration process via Android phone.
Same problem/error, if I try to add hub3 to hub2 (same model) in locationB.
Same problem, if I connect hub3 via ethernet cable directly to hub2 (which has an output-ethernet port!)
Over more than a year ago, I did succed to add a similar smartthings wifi ET-WV523 hub (hub2) to locationB within my smartthings account. See screenshots. This is not connected to locationA of course, but works fine still.
Hi, @stillerson
I separated your post as this is a different issue and Hub model.
I’ve seen this error code before, it means “the router was configured”. This kind of Hub (Wi-fi) has two “portions”, one is the router and the other is the Hub, so, I don’t know if something failed after configuring the router.
These hubs are managed by the SmartThings team in Korea and they mentioned users should report this issue through Customer Support because they can escalate the issue to their ticket system unlike us.
So, have you reported this issue to them?
Did you see which firmware version had your Hub installed before removing it? I’m curious to know if it could be old because we’ve seen this happen for hubs that haven’t been updated/used for a long time.
A user that also had this issue found the workaround mentioned here but it didn’t solve it.
I don’t know if it’s similar to what you did here:
If so, but it still cannot be onboarded, the suggestion is to take the hub to a care center because those hubs that cannot overcome the 36-302 error are marked as defective and need a replacement.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing else we can do from our side because of what I mentioned above.
Is there any hope for this issue? I have had a 3 unit (ET-WV523) for over 5 years now and want to add a 4th unit. I purchased a brand new sealed unit (manufactured date 2019.03.09) thinking it would connect but, receiving error 36-302 (69%) using STT app and Plume never finds it.
