Error 36-302 when adding SmartThings WiFi/Hub (ET-WV523)

Hi!

Some time ago (about a year) I bought a new Vodafone set with a camera, hub, siren, and contact sensor. I’m using these devices with the V2 hub, which still works great. Everything works except the hub. I couldn’t connect it to SmartThings due to error 36-302. It’s the ET-WV523 model (SmartThings WiFi/Hub). I abandoned it then, but I took the hub out of the drawer and would like to use it :). I found threads about this here, but I want to check if anything has changed since then. Then I read that the problem was outdated software.

What I did:

I don’t have another hub of this model and I don’t know anyone who does. Is it possible to manually update the hub? Can I add it to the app somehow?

I can share any information needed.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello!

The SmartThings WiFi Hub (ET-WV523) giving the 36-302 error is a common issue caused by critically outdated factory firmware that prevents it from completing the initial connection and self-update. Unfortunately, there has been no change to this problem; users cannot manually update it. The only potential solution is to contact the SmartThings specialized technical support (escalating past general nelnet com customer service if necessary), provide your hub’s MAC Address/Serial Number, and request that they manually push the current firmware to your device from their servers. If they cannot perform this remote intervention, the hub remains unusable.

Thanks for the reply. Who should I contact to update then?

I once read that updates can be done via NetOdin, but only Samsung employees have the update files.
