Intrusion Detected reminders, can't dismiss event?

You’re aware that every time an intrusion is detected you have to go into SHM and dismiss it, right?

This old issue had to do with the dismiss button not working or not being there and removing and reinstalling the security section of SHM was the solution.

I just realized the bigger picture here.

When I set my home using automated routine to away mode and turn on all the lights and start monitoring the sensors, the system alerts me as lights are getting turned off by its own system as if I have an intruder in the house messing with my lights.

I did not have this issue on the past few months this just recently started.

Why would the system be so dumb that it doesn’t recognize its turning off the lights ITSELF (with The automated routine) and just go add a whole bunch of alerts to my que that will keep bugging me until I realize I have to go to SHM and dismiss them? Very annoying.

And then there is the intrusion detected and activity detected alert. The wind blows on my door and I get notifications. Why can’t I get notified only when and if door opens? Not just “intrusion detected”?

Above all, the fact that notifications continue coming every hour until I go though the App to dismiss, is plain nuts.

So I see no response from anyone here. I thought this would become such a hot thread that they would issue an update to the box. But they didn’t.

So let me understand this, you guys are all OK with having to dig into the app to dismiss all security alerts so they don’t pop up on your one every hour? Especially that they are mostly wrong? After I dismiss notification on android phone the reminders should stop but they continue every hour.

If you go to the LG Smart Home screen on what I think is the new version of the phone app, you’ll see the “favorites” and an icon for each sensor you are using.Scroll down to the end and you’ll see the section called “Home Solutions” and “Smart Home Monitor” - which in my case was shaded red because I had tested a sensor. I had the same problem finding this on the APP but finally did! If you click on that, it will give you the option to dismiss, and you can take if from there. Took me forever to find it, but I hope that helps!

I have Smart Home Monitor integrated with an Arlo Pro 2 camera system and Sonos to trigger a barking dogs sound on a pair of Sonos amp connected speakers. My issue is that once an incident is triggered I can get Smart Home Monitor to re-arm via automation in the app, but the barking dog sounds won’t happen until the previous incident is dismissed manually via the SmartThings app. Is there any way to set up automation to automatically dismiss this incident to then allow the system to be reset to trigger and react to the next incident? Thank You!

I have the “new” SmartThings app on an Android phone. Like others, I get an intrusion alert for Garage Door open that was triggered when I entered my garage via the door late at night. Every hour since, I get a notification on my phone such as “Reminder: intrusion detected by the Door 1 Garage 10 hours ago.” This notification is delivered via text message to the phone. There is no notifications option under Menu or SHM with which to dismiss the notification (like there was in the “old” SmartThings app). Cannot delete this notification. Any help would be appreciated.

The option to dismiss an alert should appear on the main page. Any chance that you did not remove all the rules and SHM from the Classic app? If you didn’t, it is still running in the cloud. If that is the case, you will need to install the Classic app, login, dismiss the alert, remove the rules and remove SHM.

This is a solution. Thanks!

Indeed, I reinstalled the Classic app and found the intrusion alert. I dismissed the alert, removed any automations and SmartApps associated with intrusions via my garage door, removed SHM, and uninstalled the Classic app. Voila! No more hourly intrusion notifications. When I installed the new SmartThings app and uninstalled the Classic app a few months ago, I was unaware of the need to remove the rules and SHM from the Classic app prior to uninstalling it. This may explain a few other anomalies with the new SmartThings app as well.

Thanks. This is a solution. See my reply in the thread.
