I recently came across a clearance Tradfri Shortcut Button, E1812, at Ikea (USA). I tried to connect it to SmartThings Aeotec Hub v3 but it’s being recognized as a “Zigbee Thing” and not a button. How can get this shortcut button to get recognized? I tried using Mocelet’s driver as well, but it does not match this particular item when I try to change drivers. I am only able to switch the driver between the default SmartThings Zigbee Thing, and Mariano Shared Beta Driver / Zigbee Thing Mc (which shows some diagnostic info but does not expose the button presses).
Is there some info that I can put in this thread from the button that would help identify it?
In other news, what’s the most reliable, easy-to-use single-press button currently available for SmartThings, that has decent battery life?
The IKEA BILRESA is not good because I have observed that people can’t figure out how to use it. I also tried the Arre smart button (matter over thread) and it keeps on dropping off the network. I also tried MOES smart buttons (which are rebranded Tuya products) and they don’t seem to transmit button presses. Fundamentally, these options just aren’t reliable.
