Has anyone been able to pair this bulb directly to smartthings hub without using the ikea hub?
I assume you are talking about the older Ikea Zigbee bulb here (not the just released Matter bulb).
I have paired multiple of these bulbs. Getting them into pairing mode can be a bit tricky. With the bulb switched on, switch it off, then on, 6 times with about a one second frequency. The bulb should dim and brighten to indicate pairing mode. Then hold the bulb very near your SmartThings hub (6 inches if possible) while the hub is in pairing mode. The bulb should dim and brighten a few times to show it is paired. The bulbs can be paired from a distance, but I found this works best with Ikea Tradfri bulbs. I even made a GU10 lead to pair these bulbs that were destined for ceiling downlighter.
