Hub Firmware update email received (13 Sept 2016)

Just received.

Hello,

On Thursday 15 September, between 4:00 pm BST and 7:00 pm BST, we will automatically update your SmartThings Hub to the latest firmware (version 0.15.8). The firmware update adds improvements to LAN processing and Hub connectivity.

The update is expected to take less than 10 minutes, during which time your SmartThings Hub will temporarily go offline and events scheduled for this time will not be processed.

Thank you,
SmartThings Support

Oh is gonna be a real fun week. The update to the app to 2.2 and a hub update!

I’m still recovering from the last time they did both around the same time! Lol

Which makes me wonder… I’m in the UK and therefore on the EU shard… so are they upgrading everyone at the same time? and is that normal? Anyone have any idea?

I didn’t receive the email… Maybe they are just breaking your hubs this week!

Which is what I was thinking. I don’t seem to have half the pain you guys do.

Maybe they’ve figured out they can use the UK as a UAT environment?

Yikes… perfect timing NOT…we will be on vacation during this period and the last major firmware bricked my V2 hub. That prevented our door locks and garage doors from be monitored & controlled, our motion sensors inside and outside inoperative…

I wish that we customers could “schedule” or “accept” the firmware update in a date range to insure we are home when the firmware update occurs.

Fun spoiler …

If you are like me, and wonder why a Hue hot fix would be honored with a new firmware version, maybe @slagle can tell us more?

Notable replies? ? ? ? Who’s picking those? Hahaha!

And all of a sudden my hue hub won’t connect.

I was pie-in-the-sky hoping that this meant we would finally have local control of our devices but who am I kidding?

@fightingmajor Mine is the same no Hue…But as Support are messing with some of my hue apps at the moment I’m not sure whether it’s that or a systematic issue

But we know they have learnt from past mistakes

I have the exact same problem… It connects then disconnects… It’s like they gave us a patch that does exactly that which they set out to fix.
Let us choose what update we should use.
