Hub Firmware Release Notes - 28.11

It is 2.0.31

Do you have any listed functions in the Zigbee utilities part?

None at all

@Simpson_Wreford, So, there used to be an issue, where some v2 Hub Zigbee radio’s firmware was not updated correctly, but that should have been fixed around the Hub firmware version 25.x

The advise at that time was to do a soft reset of the hub. Read the whole topic below and you would understand the instructions. (If you paired zwave devices already, then you should contact support to fix it.) The Zigbee radio FW of 2.0.31 was originally used back in 2015. Now it is at 2.8.5 according my v2 Hub.

I am tagging @Brad_ST, @BarryA and @BroderickCarlin just to let them know about the issue with your hub.

Let us know what was the solution and what support has found.

Can anyone tell me if the ADT hubs got an update? I don’t know how to check in the IDE, and am not even sure if these are capable of getting firmware updates.

The ADT hub did not get a firmware update. This update was for the v2 (2015) and v3 (2018).

Edit: just noticed the “is my hub firmware up-to-date” on the support page is not up-to-date  RUT ROH

@Simpson_Wreford, have you managed to fix the Hub?

Hi, so after a long online support chat on Wednesday where we tried a number of things, the problem was escalated to a different team based in the US, yesterday they managed to upgrade the ZigBee radio firmware and the ZigBee Utilities were now showing. This morning I have managed to connect all the ZigBee devices in the starter pack, so issue resolved. Thanks for everyone’s help.

Same here :frowning: Not all Fibaro showing offline, but some.

Virtual switch with timer get stuck. When trigger make it ON and rule is for example goes off after 5 min, often does not go off. Same problem both simulated and virtual switch.

What are you using to turn it on and off?

I’ve got a virtual switch that is set up in the Smart Lighting SmartApp to turn off after 50 minutes using the Power Allowance setting. Works fine.

Motion sensort trigger virtual switch and virtual switch go on and after 3 min off. Sometimes it not go off. It is possible to get more time everytime when motion sensor trigger virtual switch again, but if this is the stuck problem …?

I’m having more issues with my Hue bulbs showing disconnected after this firmware where they were working perfectly fine before. As you can see, my Hue bulb is showing OFFLINE in the device info…

But the events show it as coming online at least an hour before…

The app shows it offline also. After a while it will show online without doing anything, but the events don’t show any activity. I rebooted my hub (removing the batteries) for over 20 minutes and even rebooted the Hue hub. Same thing…online and offline in the app every so often all day. This firmware was supposed to fix the Hue integration, but it’s made it worse. Anyone else seeing this?

Also I had cleared my data and cache and reinstalled the app with no luck. The bulb is still controllable with ST, but just shows offline.

I’m going out on a limb to say they are not going to be supported at all any longer which is quite a shame as I have put quite a bit of money into that system for it only to be supported for a year or so.
I decided to put in a question to support on what the status of the ADT hub firmware was and this is the response I got from them.

"ME: Is there any plans to keep the firmware for the ADT hub up to date? It’s still on version 20 and the V2/V3 just rolled to 28. I have spent quite a bit of money to set up the full security system and since updates have been static I just want to set my expectations on how fast this is going to fall behind platform development in and improvements.

Support:Dear Samsung Customer,

Thank you for reaching out to Samsung SmartThings Support.

I’m writing to you in regard to your concern about Firmware updates on ADT Hub I would like to inform you that firmware versions of the hubs V2/V3 are updated by Samsung and the ADT hub firmware is updated by ADT we do not have much information on when exactly the latest firmware would be released to ADT hubs.

I request you to contact the ADT support team. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

ME: So you are telling me that Samsung has no part in updating the smartthings hub firmware that is in the ADT hub? Just to be clear I’m not talking about the ADT Alarm Firmware, I’m talking about the smartthings hub that is inside the alarm panel. So do you guys push the firmware updates to ADT then they are responsible for pushing it out to the panel? It would seem with it being dual branded ADT would be responsible for their half of the hardware and Samsung would be responsible for the IOT side since it’s a Samsung Hub internal to the panel.

Support:
Thank you for writing back to us.
I would like to inform you that it is related to the ADT Server because the Samsung server has its own Server for the device’s firmware and ADT have own server both tare independent platform it is just integration but when it comes to Firmware update both platforms have their own server.
