How Do I Add Additional Users To the App

I’m also on the same Boat. This is really awkward …in add users, once you provide all information including email id, Apps let you know this feature is not available. This is shows app is not ready for prime time. Can someone from ST team let us know when multi user feature would be available?

My guess is they will be quiet until its fixed. That is their MO I am beginning to realize

I contacted ST support last week and they told me that this feature was broken due to their global launch on Sep 10 to support UK. They told me it would be fixed by the end of this week. I’m also using hub v2.

For the time being, I just used my credentials on my GF’s phone, that worked just fine.

I have a v1 hub. I tried to add users back a few months ago but my family didn’t respond to the invite. My family all have iPhones so I want to add them all and use their iPhones as presence sensors. I have three invites sitting in there still waiting for a reply and I just tried to add my son but the system tells me this is a feature coming soon. Rather bogus. I hope it is fixed soon because I would like to set features when no one is home etc.

Supports tell me it’s a priority but no ETA, so I’m guessing a few months (it’s been 1 already since I reported it)

I was able to get it working yesterday, finally able to use 2 other accounts to log in without giving me the enter welcome code screen. Just decided to try it and it worked.

Did you already have the invites sent out to the new users? Had they previously tried to register accounts before?

This functionality is still disabled for anyone trying to create new users. It may work if you have previously invited users, but it does not for me. Still says coming soon even when trying to delete old invites.

I still can’t add new users either. Still getting coming soon. This is really frustrating as it breaks the entire routine/mode logic as ST doesn’t know that someone is still at home if I’m away.

For now I logged into my wife’s phone with my credentials but it doesn’t work as you would expect. If one of us is home while the other is out ST gets confused and modes don’t behave as you would expect. There is no way to add a second mobile profile on her phone when I log in with my account, it says that user already exists.

Any other workaround until this is fixed? Other than getting a standalone ST presence sensor!

Not sure what you mean buddy, I did exactly the same as you using my credentials on my GF’s phone. Her phone appears as another ‘thing’ that can be tracked:

So when you logged in as you for the first time on her phone did it create that new user account automatically or did you have to go and add a new mobile phone?

When I log in to my wife’s phone and try to add a new mobile phone I get this message: “This mobile phone is already set up as a mobile presence device.”

When I look at the list of things on the ST app or on IDE it only show’s one mobile presence device and that’s my phone. Either I’m doing something wrong or there is some specific process or trick to get her phone to appear as another device. We’re both iPhone users so not sure if that’s causing any issues. I noticed from your screen shot that you’re using an Android phone while your girlfriend is an iPhone user.

I can’t actually remember :frowning:

What I shall do is install the app on my Nexus 7 tablet and see how that goes!

Interesting. It looks like a limitation with iPhones. I just installed ST on my daughter’s Android phone and sure enough I was able to create a new mobile device for her.

Just to make sure my wife’s phone wasn’t acting up I deleted the ST app and downloaded it again from the app store and still can’t add her phone. I also tried it with my son’s iPhone and same thing. So I’m convinced that it has something to do with the ST app on iOS.

Sooooo frustrating. I’ve been waiting for months to get started with HA and as soon as v2 came out I ordered one. I’m surprised with the amount of bugs I’ve found in just a few short days. I really hope the engineers are hard at work to iron out these issues. But this one particular bug is a pretty serious showstopper as I pretty much can’t put my home in Away mode until it’s resolved.

I also followed up with ST regarding the support case I opened with them last week regarding this issue as they indicated it would be fixed by the end of this week. But I got an update from them this morning and it is not going to be fixed this week at all and they couldn’t even give a timeframe on when it will be.

Here’s the kicker… my GF’s phone is an iPhone6 running iOS8 and it created the new device…

So are you saying you now have 3 mobile devices? 1 Android and 2 iPhones?

Nope, one Android (my phone) which I initially set it up on and then my GF’s phone which is an iP6 that I installed the app on and logged in using my credentials.

Ok, that’s what I gathered from your screen shot. So far I’ve been able to get 1 Android and 1 iPhone to work as well but when I try to add additional iPhones they do not work. Unfortunately I don’t have another Android phone to test to see if i can add 2 Android phones. In my house we have 3 iPhone users and 1 Android.

I’m curious now if 2 Android phones could be added at the same time. Maybe it’s one of each only (iOS and Android). Can you try to add your Nexus tablet and see if that works? At least it will proof or disproof my theory.

Aha! I get ya now! Okay will try it when I get home although someone else might beat to the punch…

I still can’t add my wife and she has an android device

What kind of phone do you have?
