Hi,
I have an older multisensor (door/window). I cannot figure out how to put it into pairing mode. I have tried the following:
Hold down the reset button while putting in the batteries and then releasing the button as soon as the led flashes (green). The led never comes back on.
Hold down the reset button while both batteries are in the sensor for up to 60 seconds. The led light first turns green, then turns off. Nothing else happens.
Rapidly press the reset button while the batteries are in.
I have put in fresh batteries for all these tests.
I have attached a picture of the sensor. Sorry, I don’t know the model number…
ah the original multi ARE the best. Long battery life and deep capabilities.
to RESET, you do #1 procedure that you listed. I hold the button for a long count like 10seconds, while inserting the batteries, but that probably does not matter. I do not remember the exact light behaviour.
After reset then it is ready to pair with phone-app. You want to pick “pair nearby” .
If that doesn’t work then post back, and I’ll try one when I get home, then I can confirm the exact LED action . Maybe your multi has gone bad… but I don’t think so, they are great.
Hi Eric,
Thanks for getting back to me with your suggestion. I’ve tried (and tried) suggestion 1 on a couple of different sensors with fresh batteries and still no success. Just to be sure these are Zigbee based, right?
Thanks if you have any other suggestions. I’d welcome them!
Yes these are zigbee. I got one of these with my v1 hub back in 2015 and it is still working great in my garage. Here is a screenshot of the manual on reset instructions:
