Hampton Bay Zigbee Fan controller

Yes I’m still confused too. When you push the fan button on the remote once, does it go to the highest speed? Like in the manual @dalec posted.

Has anyone had success pairing the 52in Gardiner Fan with Smartthings? Is that even possible?

The controller is pair to Wink hub via ZigBee. There is no ceiling fan device from SmartThings, I don’t think it could be linked.
Does anyone interest on Wi-Fi connected ceiling fan controller? It will be worked with Amazon Alexa, Nest Thermostat, Nest Protect, Nest Home. If it’s price USD$129, do you want to buy?
For future, it also will be support with SmartTings.

Looks interesting. Does it also control the light ? Do you have a link where to buy it from ? Thanks

Depends on what else it can do, such as feed the dog, sweep the floors, etc …
$129 is extremely high priced for just a fan/light controller that isn’t even SmartThings compatible.

UPDATE: Based on yabi23 additional posts it looks like it was just my misunderstanding of his original post. I think he was just trying to post about the Gardinier 52 in. LED Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan itself not just a controller. What throws me off is he said $129 when HomeDepot prices this fan at $199 in my local store? So @yabi23 if you are saying you have info on just the controller itself please post a link for me.

As soon as ST supports this I’m in. I would hate to spend $200 to replace my working yet old and ugly fan with this and find out ST never supports it.

This is most likely a multiple endpoint device since both the fan and light are probably using on/off and level. ST still hasn’t updated their zigbee implementation for devices for more than one endpoint. It’d be pretty easy to write a DTH to control both endpoints, but you might not be able to get status reports from both. Won’t know for sure until someone connects it to ST and the community gets to work.

On that note, @dckirker when are you getting yours?

I am replacing my fans once we have compatibility. I have switches and fan switches here for Zwave ready to go for 5 months…but keep waiting, just in case… I see home kit ones and if those are around certainly ST compatibility will be near! errrrrr…

yes, it also support light dimming. You can buy it from Homedepot.

Anyone know if the in-canopy control module (not the whole fan) is available yet? Or ever…

I posted on this above in post 33

UPDATE 12/5/16 I am being told now that the ~$38 Wink Receiver (J) and the ~$32 Remote Control (K) for Gardinier 52 in. LED Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan Model # 43260 will be available at the first of next year January. So it looks like we might as well just wait for the actual [Wink Enabled White Universal Ceiling Fan Premier Remote Control] (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-Bay-Wink-Enabled-White-Universal-Ceiling-Fan-Premier-Remote-Control-99432/206591100?keyword=206591100) product to become available retail and save some money.

I randomly check this thread and link every few weeks to see if any changes. This morning I noticed the original receiver link is back up on Home Depot though still out of stock… May not be too much longer though. In the interim, Don’t suppose anyone has bought the full fan and got a DTH to work yet?

thanks for the heads up… added an alert on HD site for the item…

I found the manual online for the fan.

http://www.wink.com/downloads/help/gardinier-wink-enabled-ceiling-fan/installation-guide.pdf

But unlike the “cooler” manufacturers there are no technical details on the ZigBee command set.

Anyone know how I could get the details on this things brain? I would be interested in developing the DTH.

There is a very good reason I am interested in this. The fan in my bedroom will not spin, so time for a new one. Then there are four more rooms that need either a new fan or the controller.

I have three stores within 40 miles (not that far away when you live in the Midwest USA) that each have one fan.

Interesting thing I found in manual. This may be good for future reference

How to reset controller:

NOTE: Reset your fan if the pairing is taking longer than expected. Turn off your fan for 3 seconds, then turn it back on for 3 seconds. Repeat these steps 5 times. The light will blink 5 times when factory reset is successful. If pairing failed, please reset the device to original setting and re-start pairing

I just purchased this fan and installed it.

When adding a new device, the hub found the fan very quickly automatically and the fan light blinked 5 times in response to the pairing (as per the manual).

However, the status of the device in the SmartThings app is “Please Wait” and has been that way for hours.

When I login on the SmartThings web portal I get this:

I am willing and capable to try things, but I have no idea where to start…

I think someone’s gonna have to create a custom device handler in order for it to work.
