I picked up 3 with the Lowes 50 off 250 with no issues. Hardest part was finding a local Lowes with 3 in stock.
There’s not a store within a 100 mile radius of me that has more than 1 in stock. lol
Yup, sure did. I just told the customer service person that I had a coupon code.
Awesome!! I just ordered 4 from various stores that had stock. Once I call CS and order three more I’ll have all I need. Thanks for the tip!
@Joshua_Cox should be able to answer your question.
I forgot who had asked this before but they are classified as ZigBee routers and do act as repeaters.
@aynumi That means that with the new firmware the Halo will notify you through the Halo app of alarms detected by any other interconnected non-halo smoke detector?
Repeating zigbee signals from other devices in the network (that aren’t smoke detectors) isn’t the same thing as notification of an alarm from the interconnect signal.
@marktheknife I was replying to a post from @aynumi 10 days ago.
Yes - The push notifications have been turned on but update to their app was delayed. It should be firmware 0.9.7.3.1.x if you check it on the Halo app.
Just an update on getting these ordered. I’m on the phone with Lowe’s customer service now and they said they can’t place an order for multiple because there are only a few left in my region (Texas). I asked the corporate customer service person when they would get more stock and he said that Lowe’s has discontinued selling this item. Hence the 10% off sales they’re having. The rep is talking to a manager to see how they can creatively pull together the number I need. So, if you want to buy a Halo from Lowe’s you better get while the gettin’ is good. Cheers!
Whew, thank goodness I’ve got all mine already. It would be nice if Halo would provide a coupon to the Community (hint).
The Lowe’s system is showing low stock, therefore, it appears to the stores it’s being discontinued in their system. We are working to get this cleared up. Thanks for the heads up. Rest assured, Lowe’s will be receiving more soon.
We love how engaged the SmartThings community has been. As a thank you, we’ve activated a discount code “STCOMMUNITY” on our online store for 10% off your entire purchase. This code will expire on 05/05/17.
That’s great! Thanks for being part of the community! So far I’ve been very pleased with the Halo product and I tell anyone who will listen about it.
Awesome, thanks @Joshua_Cox! I love all 9 of mine, and if I could figure out how to add more I would.
@Joshua_Cox I missed this by a day.
I was planning on purchasing two of these, and would love to take advantage of your discount. Would you mind extending this, or providing me a PM with a special extension?
I was about to get some Nest Protects, until I read more about your device, and the integration with ST. This got me to thinking. I now think I am going to dump Nest, and pick up an Ecobee 4. My question is if you are working with Ecobee to have your device be used as temp sensor? AFter seeing some of your founders speak, they talk as if you are releasing many more products. If so, are you releasing a Thermostat, and integrating with Alexa?
Regardless, I would like to get some of your devices, and if you could help me with the code, it would be great!
FYI - Best Buy stocks them now as well, but not in store they are shipping only.
I have one of the Plus and one of the standard alarms, connected to my SmartThings hub.
I’d like to be able to turn the LED lights on as part of a routine. The alarm appears as a “switch” in the SmartThings app, so in the routine I have it turn this “switch” on. It doesn’t have the desired effect of turning on the LEDs.
Anyone have a fix?
I use CoRE to turn on my Halo’s that are in hallways to act as a night light, but instead of turning the light “on” I set the dim level to 100% since it’s seen as a dimmer. Here’s my CoRE piston:
Thanks for the info! I’m a noob and haven’t dabbled in CoRE, but I’ll look into it.
@Joshua_Cox Are there any plans to update the device handler to do this natively in SmartThings? Seems silly for the alarms to appear as switches, but turning on those switches doesn’t activate the only switchable component, the LED light.
