Garage Door Won't Close

If I hit the button to close my garage door as soon as I let go the door comes back up and flashes 3 times.
On Google it says it’s the wiring.

I checked all the wires and don’t see any visible cuts. I did however disconnect both sensors and put them near each other but the red light does not come on.

I linked the sensors I have. Both green lights are on but not the red. Does this mean my sensors are bad?

For reference the house was built in 1994 and I bet those are original parts.

I doubt if we’re going to be able to help you here. This forum was started a number of years ago so that customers could help other customers with the Samsung SmartThings™ Home automation system , so all of the questions and answers are assumed to be in that context. But it doesn’t sound like you’re using that system.

Try the following Bob Villa article. It gives the troubleshooting steps you need to go through if your garage door is not working. While I realize they’re starting from a somewhat different problem than what you’ve described, it’s still a good checklist.

The other possibility is that you’ve managed to trip the bump stop safety protocol for your garage door, so that it thinks that it hit something once and now it won’t close until you get that error cleared. However, the way you do that varies from model to model of garage door controller, and again, doesn’t have anything to do with the topics covered in this forum. But if you contact the company that manufactured your garage door controller, they should be able to help you figure out if that’s the issue.

Good luck – – I’m sure that’s a very frustrating situation. :disappointed_relieved:
