I’m having this exact issue with a Samsung Flexdry dryer. Did anyone ever get a resolution to this?
I know this is an old thread but, for what it’s worth, I just found a solution for my friends. Their fridge, after a recent update would connect to wifi but could not reach the Internet using their home wifi. When I used my phone as a hotspot their fridge was fine. I was able to get their fridge to use their home wifi AND connect to the Internet by using a fixed channel for their access point.
Wifi operates on multiple frequency channels. Typically you set the channel selection to ‘auto’ and the router/access point figures out the best channel. In this case I’m not sure why fixing the channel (I set it to channel 6) helped but it did solve the problem.

Good work Greg, certainly there was interference on the other channel their wifi was using.
year 2020, and same issue. app keeps crashing when I try to see shopping list, or to do list
