Messages Not working, driver 2023-11-07. I Like that there is a test button in new firmware.
It did work on a single speaker, until I rebooted hub, then it stopped working. Hasn’t worked on any speaker groups.
Off topic but I’d like to get opinions from the Sonos users here.
My new TCL 65Q750G TV (Google TV version) can’t control the volume on the optical connection to my 5-year old Sonos Playbar. I’ve had to resort to buying a single-purpose remote for volume control.
I’m thinking of putting one of the HDMI-connected Sonos soundbars on my Christmas wishlist to replace the Playbar.
What’s the sound quality of the Beam (Gen2) like? It’s about half the price of the Arc. If it matters the soundbar is part of a surround group with two Play:1 speakers and a Sonos subwoofer.
Any updates? Sorry to bother but I’m really eager to get the fix after hearing that the eng has finally been able to replicate the issue.
I requested an update on Monday following the Thanksgiving weekend, but unfortunately haven’t heard anything back.

Perhaps the redirect from the old name to the new name is broken. Go directly to

many thanks. that solves the problem

Frankly, it’s time SmartThings fix this or remove Sonos from being a partner.
I cannot express how frustrated I am that this once-working integration is now, and has been for months, broken.
@AlejandroPadilla - I have to agree with @nezmo. I’ve fought for this integration since December 2022, and have personally done all I can to help it move forward. But like others here, my patience has worn thin. The Sonos driver has been broken since it was introduced almost 11 months ago. It’s time somebody steps up and gets this done.
Does anyone have any suggestions for another speaker as a short term solution? Thanks!
I have some Google Nest speakers that I got for free with coupon codes but I haven’t taken them out of the box because I’m not excited about the microphone and I haven’t really looked into ST compatibility yet (My Sonos are all mic-less). I may have to try to see if they work though, because I’m really missing reliable notifications.
Interested to hear if others have experience to share…
With the announcements on Sonos via ST not working anymore, I’ve started to move my announcement routines over to Alexa (which I have on Sonos speakers anyway)… The only issue is that Alexa has
limited options to trigger routines and so I might have to get creative with virtual switches in ST to help trigger. I’m sure you could do something similar with Google Home.
I have to say that since the last driver update my Sonos devices have been running without any issues.
Routines cover announcements (multiple but not grouped speakers), volume control, favourite selection, switching on/off, timed off and next/previous. Also, as far as I know, they have remained connected with no dropouts and synching is near immediate.
the above does not jinx anything!
How long has it been working without issues?
Nothing has dropped out or failed to sync, my main issues, since firmware release (50.1) and the driver version that was current at the time. Subsequent driver releases have been seamless for me.
Had to reboot hub post firmware update but otherwise all seems to have been OK…
I know this doesn’t really help you guys still having trouble and there is nothing to say I wont see issues again but for the moment…
Hopefully the new firmware (if on v2/3 hubs) may help - hang in there!
One of the things that the engineer concluded in the last round of testing was that configuration and usage determined who was—and was not—affected. So the experience is, up to a point, hit-and-miss. Heck, mine work sometimes, maybe even more often than not. But it’s nowhere near reliable enough to be useful in automations of any kind.
I can’t even get my Sonos devices added to the hub. My amp showed up for a few days then went offline. I removed it and now that doesn’t show back up. All of my 11 Sonos devices work fine with Lutron Caseta and Logitech Harmony. After 6 weeks of back and fourth with Samsung support they finally said:
Upon investigation, we would like to inform you that, our team has created a ticket for Engineering to investigate this further.
I can see that the Sonos edge driver got updated yesterday from the 11/7 to 12/12
Does anybody know if anything got fixed?
After a speaker f/w update, once again the event freeze followed.
No impact personally, all continues to be fine and update itself has caused no need for any reboots so far
