Edge driver for Aqara Zigbee Door and Window Sensor

Hi,

It’s been a while since I’ve touched my Smart Things system.

Recently, I added a door sensor, which I hoped would tell me whether the door had opened or closed. But instead, on the app, the device log just shows “on” or “off”.

I thought I could update custom firmware to my devices to get the modifications I needed, so the app would show “opened” or “closed” instead of “on/off”.

Am I wrong? What happened?

thanks,

hbs

Looking for any custom drivers for Aqara Zigbee Door and Window Sensor.

Delete the device in the SmartThings app, install the Zigbee Contact Mc driver from this channel and add it back again.

If the above doesn’t work, try the Zigbee Sensors Edge Driver [YG] 1.8.16 from this channel.

Hold the sensor very close to the hub. Press the reset button every minute until paired (it may take multiple attempts). Simulate open/close during pairing. This makes sure to keep it awake. In my experience it’s sometimes necessary with battery powered devices.

I’ve got some Aqara sensors. To begin with I added them directly to SmartThings but had a lot of issues with them falling offline.

I ended up buying an Aqara M2 Hub. Connected the sensors to the Aqara hub and used Matter-over-bridge to bring them into SmartThings. It did require me to get an Aqara outlet to reach the farthest Aqara sensors.

Thanks!

I was wondering how I get to driver channels. I forgot how to get to that place.

Now all I have to do is to rip the device off from its M3 sticker for the hub. not ideal but…
