I’ve tried the suggestions and saw i may need a driver now? If so which driver or if i’m missing steps to get it going.
I’ve tried what i see in various threads here but nothing has worked. I simply can’t get them to connect anymore. I deleted them and still no luck.
Thanks for the help!
I’ve attempted dozens of times and still won’t connect. Open to suggestions but i’ve followed the walkthrough in the app. Also tried a new sensor and it won’t connect.
The model MCCGQ01LM and model MCCGQ11LM Aqara Door & Window contact sensors work with the Yakov’s edge driver. The driver can be sourced from Yakov’s Edge Drivers Channel Invitation.
After signing in to your Samsung Account, accept Yakov’s channel invitation.
Next click the “Available Drivers” button.
Find and download the "Zigbee Sensors Edge Driver [YG] 1.8.16 ” edge driver to your ST Hub.
If you need to update the driver, tap on your device to access the device settings screen.
Tap the three dots in the upper right.
Select “Driver” from the drop-down list.
tap on “Select different driver” and then find and tap on the "Zigbee Sensors Edge Driver [YG] 1.8.16” to install the driver.
Please note that the driver requires several minutes to update the device properties when changed from different driver. After a couple of minutes you should close and reopen the device settings screen to view the updated sensor properties.
The Aqara T1 Door & Window Contact Sensor (requires an Aqara Zigbee hub) carries the model number DW‑S03D. That’s confirmed across several retailers and in its official documentation. You might also run into the internal designation MCCGQ12LM, which refers to the same T1 variant in Aqara’s system. I will not hurt to try Yakov’s driver to see if it works. If it does not, you can easily switch it back to the former driver, or another driver. When you open the driver screen it offers a list of all potentially compatible drivers. If Yakov’s driver is listed, that an indication that it might work with the sensor. Hope this helps…
Mine drop off occasionally so I have to re-pair them (they are PT1s).
Sometimes the sensor actually do re-pair but the App carries on as if it’s still pairing. Moving the sensor across a magnet as if opening and closing also helps. Have a routine to notify you of opening/closing; that way you can cancel the pairing process when you get the notification.
I use the Aqara T1 everywhere. Nice and small and very reliable.
If one drops offline just readd in Smartthings with the + and it starts back up as before.
And I use Yakov’s driver as well. Works great here.
As stated above, if the sensor is not paired, you have to pair it to the hub before you can switch the driver. Move the sensor 1 or 2 inches from your Smartthings Hub. Hold in the small reset button it for 5 seconds. Sensor will blink blue light 3 times. Then after those 3 light blinks press button once every minute until it pairs. Once it pairs, click on the device, and while in the setting screen, tap on the three dots in the upper right, tap on drivers to determine which driver is installed. If you wanna switch drivers, you can tap on select a different driver, then select the driver you want to replace the current driver with.
Update. I guess i just had to walk away and ignore for a couple of days. I got it to connect first try tonight…lol
its seeing it as a switch so is this where i would select the different driver or is there something else to note this is a sensor and not a switch? Thanks for all the help!
Aqara devices have a mind of their own. I have a contact sensor that disconnected and I tried so many times to reconnect it and eventually game up. After seeing this thread I decided to give it another try, and low and behold it connected first time . Baffling
