Devices offline, no fix in sight. Smartthings has acknowledged the bug

The following all describe similar issues occurring in the same time period, but I don’t know if they’re all exactly the same problem:

ZIGBEE Devices going Unavailable / Unable to add

as of late i’ve been adding devices left and right. I got 25 of the open/close sensors and have added most of them. Now I’m seeing devices fall off the network and I can’t even remove and re-add them. It started Yesterday, I was trying to add two sensors (the Visionic ones)… didn’t work, so I rebooted the hub and tried again that night. Boom it worked … but somehow during that day, my Iris open/close sensor went into Unavailable/offline mode. So I tried this morning to remove it and re-add it (factory reset it). For some reason, hub won’t let me re-add the Iris sensor. And I tried adding another Visionic sensor, no dice there either. Is there a limit that ST can handle per hub? I’m at 84 devices… Network status shows fine, so I assume it’s just me. I’ve trired rebooting the hub from th…

More than a dozen Zigbee devices went Offline within an hour of each other

One nice thing about the new mobile app is to quickly be able to see if a device goes offline with the health check option. Things have been working great for me for nearly a year with only one or two devices here and there dropping off but I wonder what could cause more than twelve devices to go offline at once? They are all battery-powered devices, it includes Iris contacts & motion sensors, PEQ contacts and leak detector, Samsung branded motion sensors and contacts. None of my pocket outlets went offline so I’m guessing that I should still have a strong mesh. I checked all the batteries when I went around to re-activate the devices and they were all good. A few sensors would work for about a day and then go offline again so I would have to reset again. I also did a cold reboot of the h…

Zwave device/network issues starting in the last 2 weeks - just my hub, maybe?

I’ve been having trouble with a couple of relays (landscape lighting) on the far edge of my zwave network for a while. But in the last two weeks, I’ve had porgressively more of my z-wave light switches go down. The sequence was that more light switches started to not work and then today when I ran the zwave network repair - almost all of my zwave switches and relays throwing “failed to update mesh information” errors and are not working. I do have a few sensors and two light switches that are still working, however. I don’t see anything else about firmware updates or other fundamental issues causing widespread z-wave network issues recently (and my installation is basically 2-3 years old now). Multipurpose sensor going offline without any warning / notification?

Today I learned that I can access my device / smartapp info at: https://graph.api.smartthings.com So I went and checked them out. To my utmost surprise, two of my multipurpose sensor are “OFFLINE”. When I looked at my SmartThings app, those sensors’ “Right Now” tab looked normal, battery is good, temperature and open/close state were shown as usual. I then tested them by opening the corresponding windows. The open/close state didn’t change in the app – they remained “closed”. So these sensors were indeed OFFLINE. I had to remove the sensors’ batteries to reset them (and just holding down the reset button didn’t help – the battery needed to be removed and put back to restore the sensor). How come there’s no warning / notification at all in the app? Even when SmartThings knows that the …

This device is unavailable at the moment

I have two devices that show a message that says “this device is unavailable at the moment” when I select them from the Things screen. There is a link on the screen that says “Explore help topics to solve this issue.” The words “help topic” are blue, indicating a link to a help topic. Clicking the words “help topic” does absolutely nothing. Does anyone know how I get the devices to become available again? I searched the support site for “this device is unavailable at the moment” and get 107 hits, none of which address the issue. I also see someone asked the exact same question and there was no response. Any help is appreciated. Also, if anyone else sees the same message, does the help topic “link” take you to a help topic or is that a problem with my phone?

Zwave Switch Shows Unavailable - But Somewhat Works - Help

I am fairly new here and I have installed 4 GE Switches, three are dimmers (2 Z wave Plus) and one Fan Control. The GE Fan switch constantly shows Unavailable in my “Things”, and Alexa can’t connect to it, as it shows offline there as well. If I select the Fan in my things and get the next screen, from there if I adjust the slider, it responds and refreshes to available in both SmartThings and Alexa. Unfortunately, that only lasts maybe an hour or so. Could be a bit longer, could be shorter. I have also tried pulling the little tab out to power cycle the switch and while that brings it out of unavailable status, it goes back to being unavailable shortly. I am starting to think I have a bad switch. Anyone know how to fix this? It is quite frustrating. Also…if I look at my activity feed…

Schlage Camelot: Worked for a year, then hub upgraded, now?

I’ve been using my SmartThings hub with my Schlage deadbolt for a year. My family uses the iOS app, and some of us use the widget. Both have worked flawlessly for about a year. We’ve tried the Apple Watch app - that has never worked for us. In any event, we’ve had hub upgrades before and planned outages before, and never had problems. But since this last hub update, we can’t use the app to lock or unlock. What’s interesting is, the app does correctly report the current lock position. So that must mean that it’s communicating with the lock through the hub. The lock is able to operate the deadbolt based on keypad input, so the mechanics in the lock are working. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
