Devices Not Responding to Hub since Power Outage

I have a V2_Hub with numerous devices of light switches and multi sensors. Last week we had a short (<1 min) power outage and since then none of the devices have worked. Light switches do not turn on/off and sensors do not report their status open/closed. I have powered off/on the hub and switches and removed and replaced the batteries from some of the sensors but no change.

In my.smartthings.com ZIGBEE and Z-WAVE show as functional=TRUE and zigbeeAvailability = Available and zwaveAvailability = Available. All devices show as ONLINE yet none of the devices respond. I’m using the android app on a Samsung tablet as well as the web page.

Any ideas? Could the Hub be damaged?
Hub firmware version: 000.053.00019
Zigbee v 5.7.5
Zwave v 6.10

When you powered off your v2 hub, did you remove the batteries? Also, leave it off for several minutes.

I would also do driver logging with the ST CLI to see if devices are sending Z-Wave/Zigbee messages to the hub and vice versa. Install the CLI on a Linux/Windows/macOS computer and use the command “smartthings edge:drivers:logcat --all” to see if messages are being sent/received and that drivers are processing them.

I don’t know if this is relevant to your situation but some people have said that the OEM batteries are known to leak and may possibly cause damage. Have you changed (checked or removed) the batteries on your hub?

It’s rare but possible for a power restore to damage any mains-powered electronic device, including a hub.

Was it connected via a surge protector?

Yeah, quite possible. I lost a wireless router this way, learned a hard lesson that day. :unamused:

First, thanks to the people that posted replies.
It seems that my hub can communicate with devices on the ZWAVE network but not devices on the ZIGBEE network. I replaced the batteries and downloaded the CLI utility to view the network traffic but I didn’t see any data that helped. I tried contacting Samsung support but they don’t seem to have support for Smartthings. I may just break down and buy a new hub.
Thanks again to everyone.

Don’t buy a new hub yet. Contact ST support again. Dump your hub logs to them and also give them remote access to your hub. Have the first line of support to escalate your ticket to a higher level.

You should be able to contact support from inside the SmartThings app.
