A quick but significant update for the Notification add-on. Version R.0.3.8

There have been numerous reports of messages being cut off when playing text to speech messages on media players. This update adds logic to limit this annoying incident. The concept is simple, if a message is already playing delay the delivery of another incoming message. While this fix is guaranteed to improve the first and second consecutive message, it does attempt to alleviate additional consecutive messages delivered at the same time.

If you don’t experience any issues, this update doesn’t affect you.

But if you experience issues, the logic itself may solve the problem. If second messages continue to be cut off, there is now a new field when selecting a media player to further delay the subsequent message(s).

Other fixes and enhancements:

*Weather Alert subscription confirmation. When creating a weather alert, you will receive a confirmation upon successful subscription delivered based on your selection, via push, sms and/or audio message.

*Fixed sms messaging for hourly weather alerts. You can now receive a text message if there are any changes to the hourly weather forecast for your location/zip code.

This update only requires Notification Add-on upgrade to current version.

I have gone through the whole install but the the AWS test is failing. I am VERY new to this but this SmartApp looks amazing so I’d love to see it work. Below is the error I’m receiving which matches the error in the instructions. I have the location set to N. Virginia. Any other suggestions on what I could be doing wrong?

Whay happens when you type in

This is a test

Same error

Open the app, tap done.

Try again

Unfortunately same error.

Ate you in Europe?

California

Ok.
When you log into the ide, what is the url?

Ha! That was it! I am not sure why, but the first time I checked it, it was the Shard 01, when i just checked again, it was supposed to be Shard 02. I just updated the line to the below and it works.

Not going to lie, it seems pretty intimidating and massive, but I can’t wait to test it out and all it can do.

Thanks again!

I understand that it can seem that way… Just follow the wiki very carefully and it will go smooth.

It’s worth it, I promise.
