I, along with several other folks, have asked this question repeatedly in the SmartThings Community pages online and have yet to receive an answer. SmartThings is the only app I have on my iPhone that does NOT allow for deletion of past notifications. Which means, you end up with MONTHS [and eventually YEARS] worth of past notifications cluttering up your smart phone. That’s insane. Please advise how we can kill off these notifications from our phones. There is no delete command for these notifications in the SmartThings app, so what do we do?
can you clarify which notifications?
- under Menu > Notifications (i thought this one only showed the last 7 days)
- or Notifications sent to your iPhone
Not sure I’m understanding your question, jkp. All my SmartThings notifications received all my Samsung appliances are all lumped together under SmartThings Notifications … the most common of which would be the “cycle is done” notifications from my Samsung washer and dryer. I have months and months of them with no way to delete them, either individually or collectively.
can you post a screenshot showing these notifications? When I tap on Menu and select Notifications… I only see the past 7 days. So I am curious (and perhaps I simply do not use a component that you may be using). Hopefully another community member using Samsung Appliances can offer better advice.
I am using both a Google Pixel 6a phone and a Lenovo tablet both running Android 14 and I only see 7 days of notifications.
My only Samsung Appliance is a dishwasher which put out several notifications per cycle, but again I can only see the for 7 days.
My app version is 1.8.21.28
I am using Android and I don’t have any Samsung appliances. However I also read notifications directly from the API. Not only does the app only display seven days of notifications for me, but there are only seven days of notifications in the API to start with so it is getting everything there is.
I suppose the iOS app could be failing to expunge the old notifications after syncing up. Other than that it could be another case of the app doing stuff outside the SmartThings platform.
