Costco Smartcam HD Plus

Very nice to see Samsung follow through on this broken promise! I got my HD Plus in late 2015 and the guidance at that time was Q1 2016. We waited and moaned and griped and finally… 1 year late, it shows up! I kind of agree with Mike that it’s not all that useful “yet”. But I’m somewhat happy to see that they didn’t give up. Would love to know why it didn’t just take a year, but overdue by a year!! Must be very complicated stuff considering the same company produces both products! ok enough continued griping… Mine connected up just fine, THANK YOU!

@Tyler : Now I am able to setup my SNH-V6414BN, which I bought from costco, an year ago. Its weird, smartthings does not support the new model SNH-V6431BN, which I recently bought from costco. I did not really understand how is SNH-V6431BN different from SNH‑C6417BN ? Comparison shows both are similar products, where as SNH‑C6417BN is supported by smart things and SNH-V6431BN is not.

Hi Tyler… Any update on this?

I am trying to setup a new SNH-V6431BN from Costco.

I am seeing this error in my log:
‎8‎:‎06‎:‎58‎ ‎PM: debug Camera is not supported: 10urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:Basic:1SAMSUNG-SNH-V6431BN-00166CC7F469SAMSUNGhttp://www.samsungtechwin.com/SNH-V6431BN Network CameraSNH-V6431BNSNH-V6431BNhttp://www.samsungtechwin.com/ZEH56V2J400FPLXuuid:Upnp-BasicDevice-1_0-00166CC7F469urn:SamsungTechwin:service:BasicService:1urn:SamsungTechwin:BasicServiceId/upnp/control/BasicServiceId/upnp/event/BasicServiceId/scpd_basic.xmlhttp://192.168.XXX.YYY:80/

I got 2 new cameras, Do I need to take both back?

The SNH-V6431BN isn’t supported. It’s frustrating when they look so similar to the SNH-C6417BN, and when Costco sells them at a good price.

The “Costco SmartCam HD Plus” cameras that I have are SNH-V6414BN (not SNH-V6431BN). Yours are a bigger number so they must be better .

Mine work in SmartThings (after what? a year?), although I was disappointed with how SmartThings handles them and just use them standalone now.

It seems Costco is now stocking a different model.

PS - every time someone mentions a “Costco SmartCam HD Plus”, or the cheesy SmartCam Android app gives me a warning about some random camera that I may or may not have hooked up, I have to go look up what model I have because it’s too hard to remember (Samsung model numbers drive me nuts).

It is confusing for the user when brand consistency is absent. Perhaps the division marketing Samsung cameras is not aware of or discounting the Samsung SmartThings brand???

Ultimately, I would surmise all cloud-based camera vendors will discontinue support for older cameras, rendering them useless to the average user. Probably by design. For that reason, the more technically inclined may be wise to select cameras with streaming capability that can be captured locally…

Has anyone else noticed that the smartcam plus SNH-V6414BN is no longer working in ST.
I Can connect them and thy say active but can not view any video.

Support has been no help☹

My camera is working fine with the SmartThings app.

Your lucky
I have 3 that used to work until recently now they will connect to ST but can’t get any video.

I have three of these cameras that I never could get to work with ST. I also have a Samsung Washer and Dryer that are supposed to work with ST; but guess what?

I am in the same boat. Just had a chat with support they said its a known issue and are looking into it.

At least they are finally admitting there is a problem.
To some one, but not me!
I just get told to jump through many many hoops.

Working today… Woot!!

Your lucky, mine are still down

Anyone get the Costco SNH-V6431BN working in ST hub???

In the same boat. Is this support now?

I’m still waiting for the SHN-V6431BN to be supported. I am about to bring it back to Costco. They support many third party cameras and just wanted to use a Samsung to compare, but I don’t think they wouldn’t support their own brand, and I’m losing faith on believing if they would ever give some resources to get all of their products supported. It seems they have way to much on their plates, at least that’s the impression I get when I called them.

Folks, I had the same problem on all 4 of my Smartcam PRO cameras. I unplugged all 4 cameras and Power cycled the hub. All 4 cameras connected and the video is working fine since then. This was about 3 weeks ago. Hope you all are up and connected now.
