As I’m just getting started with SmartThings, I’m also trying to figure out how to set up more advanced routines and check out all the possibilities.
So I was wondering if it’s possible to use a notification as part of the “and” conditions for a trigger. For example, I’d like a routine to activate only after I receive and confirm a notification (like a Yes/No pop-up).
My first idea is to have a couple of routines passing through a third-party service that can push the notification. Then, based on the response, trigger or cancel the routine via SharpTools.
However, I’m wondering if there’s a more straightforward way to do this without involving so many steps.
Has anyone tried something similar or have other ideas? I’d really appreciate any advice or tips.
Note:In the past few weeks, I’ve also tried using Homey (just with the Bridge since the Pro seemed to be too much money. But I’ll return the Bridge as it lacks most of the integrations). However, Homey’s Flows does have this feature, but as far as I know, there’s no way to have a crossover between Homey and SmartThings without the Homey Pro.
Thanks in advance!

Android or iOS?
With Android, I use a Tasker/AutoNotification developed pop-up linked to a virtual switch as a condition in the SmartThings routine.
Yes, I’m also an Android (Pixel) user so that might be a good way to go.

Here is a link to some light reading (if you haven’t read it already) on Tasker integration with the new SmartThings. Not as simple as it once was, but certainly doable.
