Just got my aeotec smart home hub v3 yesterday, and what a nightmare to get working
took 5 hours just to get the hub connected.
Now the hub is up and connected, i already have 3 smart light bulbs working in the tuya app.
1 is a ledvance matter protocol bulb
the other two are no-name tuya wifi bulbs
all three bulbs work ok in the tuya app.
i expected at least to get the ledvance matter bulb to work, but no
yesterday i was stuck with error 39-309
today after resetting the hub again, i get : 39-401
i have added both the tuya and ledvanced integrations, they add fine, but 0 devices are listed
if i power cycle the ledvance bulb 5 times, it shows up in the smartthings app, but when i add it, it fails with 39-401 , same thing happens if i scan the qr code for the bulb.
You only have three (wifi) bulbs… Replace them with Nanoleaf Essentials Matter over Thread bulbs and never look back.
It’s a one-time investment and it’s worth it.
And that’s what the hub is for: to connect the devices directly. If you integrate the other two bulbs via Tuya, two clouds are involved when you switch your lights on/off. Matter over Thread? Fully local.
If you 2 non-matter bulbs are WiFi there is no direct way to add them to SmartThings. You could try using the cloud-to-cloud integration. Go to + sign, add device, partner devices and chose SmartLife. If my or may not connect your bulbs.
If the bulbs are ZigBee you should be able to directly connect them. You may need a community driver to get the working properly.
For your Matter bulb. If it is still connect to the Tuya App you will need to get the Matter code from the Tuya App. Open device in Tuya, click 3 dots or pencil in upper right, chose share via Matter.
Strange enough, i could not get the matter bulb to connect without the Smartlife cloud, this bulb finally worked in smartthings after i added it to smartlife, the two tuya bulbs does not show up in smartthings, so i will give up on them.
It could have been so easy with Matter over Thread bulbs that connect directly to your brand-new SmartThings hub. Way lower latency, higher reliability, works if the Internet or Tuya cloud is down…
Just a bundle of three or four Nanoleaf bulbs on Prime Day… Now you have imported SmartLife scenes to turn your bulbs on/off but nothing else.
I have eight xiaomi bulbs and in the past they worked directly with ST but I never activated the lan control because I used them in the xiaomi app and later xiaomi locked them from yeelight and they can no longer be integrated. However, I got a way to activate the lan control and I saw that there is an edge driver for the bulbs but it is broken, it works but the status is not updated and I am afraid that its developer abandoned ST. So sad news for me.
So I’ll take your advice and buy those Nanoleaf bulbs and never look back.
I’ll leave those xiaomi bulbs as an experiment to see if I can integrate them without complicated methods or third-party apps.
