Use the advanced page of the web interface, and see if it says anything about drivers there for this device.
In the device section of the advanced shows that there is a Z-wave driver for the switch. The hub shows that z wave is available.
On my iphone the driver is grayed out (not showing a driver). On my phone the switch shows offline and not connected to a network.
Driver is grayed out in the app Because smartthings has made the decision that you cannot use the app to change from one driver to another if the device is off-line.
I personally think that’s a bad decision because sometimes the problem is that the driver is flawed and that’s why the device is off-line, but it is what it is.
What does the advanced page say about what specific driver/DTH the device is currently using? Please post a screenshot if you can.
I see your problem. The Fingerprint (Mfg. Code & model) is all 0’s.
You need to exclude it and repair it with ST to get a true fingerprint.
I excluded and added again. The fingerprint is still all zeros
It will never work with 0’s.
Are you doing the excluding and pairing right next to your hub? If not give that a try.
Yes I tried that before with the same results. All of my Leviton z wave switches fingerprint are coming up all zeros. I’ll retry a switch right next to the hub but what could be the next option?
BTW these switches were working fine with my ST hub before that hub crashed.
when you remove/exclude them from ST, try resetting the switches… then add to ST.
Ok I tried this. The switch is 6" away from the hub. I excluded then factory reset, then add to ST. Same results. all zeros for Fingerprint.
What are the exact steps you are taking to add the device? Are you using a QR code? Brand selection? Or just scan nearby?
I suspect this has to do with the security level on the switch. I know some people have had issues with that in the past.
Since the Leviton is an officially supported device, it may be time to open a support ticket and work your way through that process. It can take a while before you get someone who actually knows much about smartthings, but it may be the best way to resolve it.
I have a couple of Leviton DZ15S switches. Aside from needing a firmware update they’ve worked well. All my devices are “unsecure” FWIW (I’m out in the country).
Is this the procedure you’re using to get them factory reset?
ok thanks I’ll try that too
ok I have communicated with them before. I’ll let them know about the fingerprint 0’s
I’m sending back the hub. I’m going to get a new modem/router and try my old hub. I’ll let you know how that works out. I never got an answer from ST about the fingerprint showing all zeros for the model or manufactures number.
I did hear back from ST support. “if after resetting the hub and it fails to update the firmware, then the z wave and zigbee modules will also fail. Due to this the fingerprint will not represent any values” The solution is to replace the hub.
