Something has changed in the app, some add-on.
The unassigned room has also go back, where new devices are added now, instead of in the room where the Hub was.
And the add-ons are not 100% compatible with the current app version.
Or whatever. ST is a little too frustrating at the moment…
Same here.
All the icons have reverted to defaults, edit function missing, Android app and my.smartthings.com all the same.
Same here, all icons back to standard version without the possibility to edit at the moment.
But what I can see on your screenshots, @Andreas_Roedl, is that the status bar icons “humidity” and “temperature” are the newer versions on the ‘after’ dashboard.
I already had them on my Samsung phone ‘before’ (with 1.8.18.21), now they are also back to “older version” on my ‘after’ dashboard - and I always only have had the older ones on my Samsung Tablet (but also with the App version 1.8.18.21).
Also, a little annoying detail regarding the status icons: they never showed the “open window”, “open door”, “open sensor” version of the icon in the status bar on top, although there was an open window and so on. kind of irritating, isn’t it?
Am I the only one noticing this or was this an (smaler) issue in the past? Haven’t found anything about it here…
Well, hopefully we just have to wait a bit until all recent firmware updates rolled out…
Same issue here too, I believe everything was still working just fine this morning (European time) so this must’ve started in the past few hours. Very irritating
These things MUST be communicated beforehand. This might be a minor problem, but an indicator that they make changes without testing it first.
The current state of my setup: can’t re-add the Aqara FP2 that has been working for weeks and this was the answer (from @alissa.dornbos ):
SmartThings has recently introduced a new driver to support the Aqara FP2 device, and today we made a change that may resolve your issue.
What change?
The change wasnt related to a commit made in the driver itself, it was elsewhere.
Where?
Now all the icons are changed back to default. And we don’t know if uninstalling and reinstalling the app would fix it or make it worse. It’s Friday and there’s only a few hours left to fix it. Changes like that should be done at the beginning of the week.
Yes, I’m pretty p…
Same here. I AM.PISSED
I tried uninstall and it doesn’t help
Same here. Hub still at 53. Location SoCal, USA. 7am PDT.
It’s indeed very frusttating. They make crucial changes that impact usability and even functionality of custom (and standard) drivers without any announcement (and apparently also without proper testing).
Make changes in driver API without proper comunication for the developers (we are highly dependent on 3rd party drivers).
Things stop working from one day to the next and we have to run after answers, sometimes having problems for several days until the driver developer understands the reason and releases an update.
THIS IS NOT RELIABLE AT ALL. Smartthings is not a platform that you can count on these days.
And that’s just us. We have a bit of an understanding how the architecture looks like and how it works.
Now imagine how irritated the average user must feel. Later this evening my wife will open the app and ask me why everything looks different.
(Didn’t tell her yet that the FP2 is gone and that I’m switching the lights manually when she enters or leaves the zones… )
Seeing the same issue here. My switches are using a “Z-Wave Sensor” driver and have reverted to a default icon that can’t be changed. Seems like it just started in the last few hours. @JDRoberts any idea what’s going on? Is this a byproduct of the firmware update being rolled out?
Sorry, I don’t have any idea.
I had same issue but now icons are ok.
My icon problem has been resolved.
All Icons are back to how they were and editable again.
Only personal issue is still, that the “open contact sensor status” icon does not show. Not on the device itsself and ot in the status bar.
Closed contact sensors are grayed out, open contact sensors are colored (but still closed). They should show the icons with the three red stripes on the top left corner, the ST action" signal, if you know what I mean… (edit: “alert” )
They mostly or all use the standard “Smartthings driver for Zigbee contact sensors”.
Any Ideas anyone?
You mean this:
Try changing it from contact to door or window.
The status bar icon shouldn’t show an alert icon in my opinion.
Hi @Andreas_Roedl ,
sure, I did change the contact sensor icons from standard to window or door or garage or whatever limited options there are withing Smartthings on all my contact sensor devices.
But only one device in my setting shows the 'alert version icon" on the device tile AND the status bar.
I like to see alerts on the status bar. Not as an alarm via HomeMonitor, but a slightly more obvious reminder, that there is or are contacs open in the house.
The ‘alert version’ of a contact sensor icon only shows on this particular devices, regardless of the icon I have chosen for this one.
Device is a Smartthings mulitpurpose sensor. Device Firmware and Driver (“standard smartthings zigbee contact”) are all the same with a lot of other devices of that exact type in my house.
I don’t understand, how this one is different and why all my other contact sensors won’t show any alert icon (like in your screenshot).
…and are there even alert versions of every contact sensor icon? I only have seen the garage door and the horizontal window??
And, @Andreas_Roedl , by the way: I’ve noticed that your (defect) contact sensor icon for an open standard icon differs from the version I can see in on my devices, look:
yours:
and mine, left top corner
what the fish?
