Since it was part of their iris offering I am guessing it will vanish soon, if not already, from their stores. I did not purchase one so I am afraid I cannot confirm whether it works or not.

I found one on eBay and set it up on ST. The good news is that it was automatically detected by ST and is a very well constructed unit with both radar and PIR motion detection as well as a temp sensor. However, it has a non-adjustable recovery time between detections and 3 minutes is too long for me.
However, I was hoping that since it included radar it could be also used as "presence" detector, rather than just a motion detector.
Iām looking for a sensor that will detect a patient in a room, even if they are not activity moving, e.g. passively watching TV
Maybe someone will write a ST device handler to allow changing of its settings

I believe all motion sensors, whatever technology they use for the detection, will require some movement to identify a change in the environment, and thus presence. You might be able to find some that are more sensitive than others but you must also consider that more sensitivity will likely equate to higher false alarms too. If the āpatientsā you are trying to detect are mostly immobile in a bed or chair/sofa then it might be hard to detect them directly. At that point you might need to consider detecting other conditions associated with their presence. A strain gauge sensor under the mattress or sofa might reveal whether there is a person in bed or on the sofa for example. Even looking at any switch (Light/TV/etc) status might be a way to detect presence but that may not work well at night when everything might be off even though they are present.
A combination of things might give you the most accurate resultā¦ Custom code in webCore could keep an eye on lights, door sensors, TV, etc plus motion. You would have to determine what combination of things equals to presenceā¦ for example, if any of the devices listed above changes state OR there is movement at least once every 30 minutes then person is present. Of course, if the person turns off the light, TV, etc and walks out of the room (motion), you would not know for 30 minutes that the person is no longer present. Also, if the person turns on the TV, and falls asleep on the sofa for more than 30 minutes, you will be alerted to that person not being presentā¦ while they are there. Other than having them carry around their neck a device to indicate presence, I do not know of any fool proof system.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. Iām currently using a combination of Samsung PIR sensors and light switches and coffee pot and TV power sensors though ST and WebCore, but was looking for that magic device to detect presence without motion.
I am also using a Philips Sleep sensor under the mattress https://www.instructables.com/id/Detecting-Grandpa-Out-of-Bed-Too-Long/
and a contact closure sensor on the lazy boy.

One last thing. I found a LARGE ST discussion on a similar Bosch sensor and they shared two DTH solutions and came with the same issues.
