Bloomsky Weather Station

I would hope with all the work done on these through this forum, @Yongfeng_Zhang might come up with a nice deal for ST users.

Doesn’t look like it. It would need to be fan aspirated. I use my Vantage Pro 2 Plus for weather. The BloomSky is nothing more than a camera (due to accuracy issues).

Comparing Bloomsky to that is like comparing a Kia to a BMW.

True. But BloomSky was basically a free camera. If accuracy is an issue, BloomSky is not an option. Both the Kia and the BMW can get me where I’m going (no accuracy issues). One is cooler. One lasts longer.

I don’t know, both Bloomskies and my Acu-rite are within 1-2% , which I can just attribute to them being mounted in different places. Not that Acu-Rite is in the same class as Vantage Pro+ either .

Any of them is more accurate than the ORH NWS station 2 miles from my house LOL

Both of my BloomSkys are showing wrong temp, and neither of them are showing up on their map.
Anybody else seeing anything goofy with BloomSky today?

p.s. I rebooted the router that one of them is connected to, and now that BloomSky is reporting correctly. So, I think this may have just been a WiFi glitch on my end. I will update this post once I figure out the other one…

p.p.s. OK, both are back to reporting correctly now. So, I guess they are both connected to the same WiFi AP/extender, and the second one just took longer to update, because it was at a different point in its reporting cycle.

Soon, I will have them both connected to APs running DD-WRT and will have the routers rebooting on a regular basis to avoid this kind of craziness in the future.

Speaking of something funky happening with BloomSky, I haven’t checked mine in a while but saw this interesting battery charging behavior today:

The BloomSky runs off their solar panel. Has anyone seen something like this? I wonder what caused the big charge that day…

Here are both of mine…

Why the heck does one of them look like it’s discharging over many days before recharging, but the other one seems to be recharging every day?

Bloomsky had a post ( on Twitter or Facebook, or ) about a problem today that they were working on fixing.
That and the 1st SKy2 has been delivered. Some lucky B in CA

Somebody testing their particle accelerator ?

I think it was someone close to their headquarters ---- I smell a fix

I happened to peek at the camera feed last night and noticed this:

While I did not see anything in BS announcement , their update to their IFTT channel broke all existing recipes, requires you to edit the recipe and reconnect the channel. It has been sunny here all week, so I did not even notice that my phone background had not changed since 8/12.

Did you send it to Bloomsky on Twitter. They would love to share it with the world…

That was another recipe, that got disconnected. No nightly Tweets if my TL.

Does anyone else have a problem with the UV readings? I noticed recently that mine doesn’t go higher than UV 2 where it should be closer to UV 7. It’s not a huge deal but it would be nice to have more accurate readings.

I manually posted it there and tagged it, but I have no idea if they will look.

My recipes all seem to be working without an issue (posting to twitter, saving to a Sheet, and saving images to Google Drive and OneDrive).

Anyone else having morning dew set off the water sensor? It’s a beautiful morning and the Bloomsky app tells me it’s raining. Also, I’ve got my sprinklers running a schedule based off the last time it rained (Bloomsky was wet), so that’s throwing it all off.
