Anyone else having issues with android app

You will not be able to use the mobile app if the cloud is down. Your phone talks to the cloud and the cloud talks to the hub.

If you have previously set up “smart lighting automations” using the official “smart lighting” feature and you only use devices in that automation which are eligible to run locally, then those will continue to run locally if your hub has power even if the smartthings cloud is down.

You can set up a minimote, which is a small handheld button controller with four buttons, and it will be able to turn other local devices on and off if you had previously included it in a smart lighting automation with other locally eligible devices.

But that’s it. The phone app, SmartTiles, Harmony, IFTTT, Amazon Echo, the Philips Hue Bridge, etc Will not run with SmartThings even though your Internet is working unless the SmartThings cloud is also available.

So there is a little bit of stuff that can run locally but not much. And you had to have had it set up ahead of time.
