Android 2.0.6 - Release Notes

You have stated that you have not been with SmartThings that long. You should look at my history of posting. I have been with Smart Things for almost a year and I started out just like you. I still love this product and like you I have tested other products. I spent considerable time with Vera Lite. In the last year I have been a very active member of this community. I have written considerable code both devices and smart apps. And frankly my code is better tested and better supported the anything coming out of the Smart Things team lately.

Somehow you join this community just recently (your words not mine) and feel you have the right to consider my opinion to be “false information” have you considered the fact that if this product continues to crash so frequently for the following year and support continues to ignore contributing customers like myself that this product will be short lived. Then who is providing “false information”.

I am happy that you feel this product has a bright future and I truly hope that it turns out my opinion is false and yours is not. But the nature of predicting the future based on your experience and opinion is that it can not be false until proven so.

You say haters will hate. I am not a hater. Again I love this product and want it to succeed. What I hate is the direction this product has taken in the last 3 to 4 months. 1 year ago when I submitted a support request I was respected and the product was usually improved by my suggestions. I contributed Device Code, Smart Apps and made suggestions to improve the code and its documentaion. All for free so I paid more into this system then the money I used to buy it. I also contributed much of my time. I have no incentive to do this anymore because the platform is so unstable (for me in my opinion) that I waste too much of my time debugging ST issues and not my own code.

Anyway you can ignore my opinion which is based on experience with this product and listen to Ben if you like but you have no right to tell me to “Move On”. I doubt Ben want’s me to move on because I am a customer and if he does want his customers who are providing feedback about issue to move one then good luck making the product succeed.

This thread has been hijacked with this subject for too long so I will no longer post to this thread. If you want to discuss the quality of this product and what has happened to it over the last year consider this thread instead.
