Alexa, stop

Unrelated the Smartthings, but does anybody know if there is a way to issue a “stop” command to an Echo Dot that is in my son’s room? Sometimes he leaves his white noise skill on that helps him fall asleep and it is still on five hours later. I’d like to issue a stop command from my phone so I don’t have to go into his room and do it (which might wake him up).

The sleep timer doesn’t always work. I’ve tried that. He sometimes resets it after I leave his bedroom

Just add the device name after “stop”

Are you talking about using a specific app? If so, which one? I was just hoping there was a way to do this natively with what already exists.

Here you go.

Yes. I have that installed and working. Again I was just looking for something native. Something already known- like a command in the Alexa app.

I’ll use echo speaks. Thanks.

I can tell Alexa to stop a specific device natively by voice. For example, I can tell Alexa on my bedroom Show, “Alexa stop office” and it will stop the music playing on my Echo named “Office.”

That’s what I was looking for. Thank you.
